Young Music Leader Development Programme (YMLDP)

Do you enjoy working with younger children?

Have you ever wanted to share your passion for music and your musical skills with beginner musicians?

Are you interested in learning how to support and mentor young musicians and develop your music leadership skills?

Would you like to be part of a team of like-minded musicians?

If so, join the BMS Young Leader Programme to access opportunities to work alongside experienced tutors, professional musicians and gain important music leadership skills.

This could count towards a Duke of Edinburgh Award or similar.

To take part, you must live, or go to school in Brent and be in Year 10 or above in the academic year 22/23 . You must have been aged 20 or less on 31 August 2022.

Supporting Young Musicians in Ensembles Part 1 - Thursday 21st July 10am - 1pm, Claremont High School - YOU MUST APPLY - DO NOT JUST TURN UP!

Supporting young musicians in Ensembles Part 2 - Monday 5th September 5pm - 8pm, Venue TBC

These workshops will lead to opportunities to work weekly with one of our 22 BMS Ensembles supporting BMS Tutors to deliver exciting and engaging rehearsals, concerts and workshops. APPLICATION FORM.

What will it look like?

Young Music Leaders will have access to a variety of opportunities such as:

- Working alongside RPO and BMS musicians in creative workshops

- Learning workshop and coaching skills

- Leading a chamber ensemble

- Learning how to support and mentor younger children in ensembles

- Learning about the different aspects of seeing a project through from planning to completion/performance and evaluation
