BMS Ensemble APPLICATION FORM

What happens in the audition?

You will be introduced to the leader of the orchestra who will ask you to perform a prepared piece of music to the standard of Grade 1. This is an informal, fun audition and is aimed purely to see what standard you are.

How many concerts do you do?

We perform at least once a term and at Brent Makes Music at Wembley Arena.

What does a rehearsal look like?

We all help to set up, learning how a modern orchestra is laid out and how team work makes for a better ensemble. The whole experience is kept fun, starting with some warm up exercises, followed by the repertoire pieces. Experienced/friendly tutors are  there to support you with any difficulties or worries you should encounter.

What music does the orchestra play?

We cover various genres of music including; classical, film, TV and pop. Sometimes BMS tutors arrange music specifically for the Junior Orchestras to play.

What should I bring to rehearsals?

Do you have any rules?

We all agree to abide by the behaviour code set down by Brent Music Service. We arrive 10 minutes before the rehearsal starts to up music stands and chairs.

What do you have to wear for concerts?

BMS t-shirt (ordered through the BMS office @£10), black skirt/trousers, black tights/socks and black shoes.
