Junior Ensembles
Brent Music Service runs 6 Junior Ensembles at its BMS Evening Centres.. The challenging yet easily achievable repertoire ranges from classical music to film scores and beyond. These ensembles are a fantastic way of improving your playing and meeting others young musicians of a similar standard. The BMS Junior Ensembles give regular concerts and have performed on stage at Wembley Arena

How do I join?
Click on the link below and complete the form for the ensemble you would like to join. Your details will be passed to the leader of that ensemble and you should hear from them within a week (during term time).
What happens in the audition?
You will be introduced to the leader of the orchestra who will ask you to perform a prepared piece of music to the standard of Grade 1. This is an informal, fun audition and is aimed purely to see what standard you are.
How many concerts do you do?
We perform at least once a term and at Brent Makes Music at Wembley Arena.
What does a rehearsal look like?
We all help to set up, learning how a modern orchestra is laid out and how team work makes for a better ensemble. The whole experience is kept fun, starting with some warm up exercises, followed by the repertoire pieces. Experienced/friendly tutors are there to support you with any difficulties or worries you should encounter.
What music does the orchestra play?
We cover various genres of music including; classical, film, TV and pop. Sometimes BMS tutors arrange music specifically for the Junior Orchestras to play.

Do you have any rules?
We all agree to abide by the behaviour code set down by Brent Music Service. We arrive 10 minutes before the rehearsal starts to up music stands and chairs.
What do you have to wear for concerts?
BMS t-shirt (ordered through the BMS office @£10), black skirt/trousers, black tights/socks and black shoes.
