CODE OF CONDUCT - VALUES & PROMISES

Written by BMS Pupil Voice Group 2021

BMS ENSEMBLE MEMBERS VALUE:

being kind, considerate, respectful and inclusive

being good listeners - helping us to be better musicians

being part of team and helping the team to achieve its best

being in a safe environment - helping us to learn and enjoy our rehearsal

AS A BMS ENSEMBLE MEMBER, I PROMISE TO:

Be organised and committed

Bring my instrument, music, folder and a pencil to all rehearsals

Attend rehearsals regularly

Arrive at rehearsals on time

Practise my ensemble pieces each week

Look after my music

Help to set-up and pack down: chairs, music stands, music and tune my instrument

Leave my instrument case in a safe and sensible place in the rehearsal space

Let my ensemble leader know if I cannot attend a rehearsal within good reason e.g. illness or family emergency

Be respectful and attentive

Watch and listen to the ensemble leader and other tutors

Sit/stand with good posture during rehearsals so I can sound, look and feel my best

Listen whilst other sections of the ensemble are rehearsing because I can learn from knowing and understanding what they play!

Not chew gum, eat or drink during rehearsals

Not use a mobile phone during rehearsal unless permission has been given

Remain within the permitted areas during rehearsals and break times

Use the break time to get to know my fellow ensemble members better, make new friends and ensure all new members feel welcome and included
