FSM Subsidy for Instrumental/Vocal pupils in a small group learning in a Brent School with a BMS tutor
£46.00 reduction per term, per pupil (academic year 2023-2024) for those who receive Free School Meals.
This subsidy is funded wholly by Brent Music Service as a gesture to provide some support to reducing barriers to learning an instrument. BMS receives no FSM nor PPG nor any other related funding.
FSM Subsidy: Conditions:
This does not apply to Pupil Premium, pupils on Ever 6 or Universal Free School meals.
Your instrumental offer must not focus/target or otherwise prioritise FSM pupils.
Pupils must be learning WITH A BMS TUTOR.
You must send a representative from your school to the Brent Primary Music Network Meeting in each term of application.
Your school must send us a list of eligible children each term before each half term holiday.
The subsidy for each child is subject to good attendance and good progress.
BMS reserves the right to withhold an individual subsidy if these conditions are not met.
You may claim one subsidy per pupil per term
Providing these conditions are met, BMS will then add the total subsidy amount as a credit to your invoice. Please be advised, that the FSM subsidy is applied to cover one instrumental lesson per term, per pupil.

BMS Ensembles
Brent Music Service heavily subsidises the costs of ensemble activities to offer value for money to families and to enable equal access.
All ensembles are charged at £90 for the full academic year. Fees are due at the point of enrolment. Any reduction in fee or installment arrangement is assessed on a case by case basis.
