November 2021 - As invited guests of Music for Youth, the BMS North and South Junior Choirs enjoyed a fabulous day at The Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday 3rd November, as part of the MFY ‘Remix’ Primary Prom Celebrations. Our invitation was based around our lockdown video "There will Always be a Reason to Sing" which struck a chord with the organisers and formed the centre-piece of the evening’s finale.
Aside from the excitement of seeing their faces centre-screen at The Royal Albert Hall, the children were overwhelmed by performing in such an amazing venue, and having the opportunity to watch other talented young musicians from across the country was both inspiring and humbling.

The BMS Intermediate Choir South had the major honour of performing at the Music for Youth Primary Proms at the Royal Albert Hall to a full house of children from all over London. They performed a varied and challenging programme: Abraham Brown (B. Britten); Straighten Up and Fly Right (Nat King Cole) and traditional South African song Shosholoza. They were ably accompanied by pianist Anita Lazinska and conducted by Caroline Morris. Many weeks of hard work and rehearsal went into ensuring they were able to perform to the very best of their ability and we were extremely proud of them. Watch the pupil-made video diary to learn more about their experience and the fun they had.
