This brainwave state is reached during peak performance and accessed during heightened states of awareness.
This powerful state of consciousness can be reached using the disciplines of yoga, meditation, & hypnotherapy, if practiced regularly.
It is often referred to as being "in the zone" by athletes.
This is the wide awake and alert state. This brainwave allows you to be present and focused. You have access to full cognition and reason.
This is the state where decisions are made. When a person is in this state they will use phrases like, “I think” and often give details like dates and times.
We spend most of our time here while at work and when we are tackling the daily grind.
We all move in and out of alpha constantly throughout the day. This is the daydream state. It's a place of relaxation and creativity.
Every time your mind wanders, you are moving into alpha.
Many kids who struggle with attention issues spend hours in this state. I lived in this state as a child and was scolded for it constantly.
I now see it as one of my biggest gifts. I can co-create my life in my mind constantly. Daydreamers are my favorite clients.
All I have to teach them is how to daydream with a purpose.
This is where hypnosis takes place. In this state, your brain activity slows down to almost a point of sleep. This is where the magic happens. You are fully out of your conscious mind and into your feeling, intuitive mind.
In Theta, you move into the language of pictures and images. Time and space do not exist. You become connected to something bigger than you. Theta is the porthole into the subconscious, into other realms.
Anything is possible in this state. Some people feel like they are floating, others feel warm and tingly. Some will say they feel heavy and others will say they can't feel their body at all. Each time you enter into the relaxed state of Theta can be different.
When my clients are in Theta, they will use phrases like, “I feel” and “I know”. They will often not be able to give you exact details like days, times, or age.
Instead, they will have more of a connection to the way they felt and what others were feeling. There is also more body awareness in this state.
Runners reach this brainwave states all the time. Athletes refer to this state as " being in the zone".
Sleep! Here you enter fully into the sleep state. It takes most people about 45 minutes to reach Delta. A complete sleep cycle will last 90 minutes. Some people will feel like they have fallen asleep during a general hypnosis session.
In fact, they are so deep in Theta they are not "hearing" with their conscious minds. You will also "check out" or "go deep" if your subconscious mind feels that you are unsafe.
If your subconscious knows you will try to analyze the experience with your conscious mind, it will take you super deep to “help” you release the block with ease.
Each night before you enter into Delta, you reach Theta. Every morning as you begin to wake, you move through Theta, into Alpha and end in Beta; the wide awake and alert state.
If you ever wake up but can't move your body, or feel heavy and tingly all over, you are in the state of Theta.
