Vadnais Lake

A road and trail ride.

Approximate distance: 12 mi

This is a loop ride from Shoreview that goes around Vadnais Lake. The route first goes on Hwy 96 east to Rice Street and then into the Vadnais Snail Lakes Regional Park. The route then follows the trail by Sucker Lake to Cty Rd F. It next accesses the trail on the east side of Vadnais lake from Cty Rd F and follows that trail to Edgerton St. The route that follows Edgerton St and Vadnais Blvd around the south end of the lake and then turns on the Vadnais Lake Rd and follows that trail back to Cty Rd F and then back to Shoreview. Most of the route is on trails including one trail segment that is gravel. The road sections are bike-friendly.

Directions:

  • From the Shoreview CC, take Hwy 96 east to Rice St.

  • Turn south on Rice St and then east into Vadnais Snail Lakes Regional Park.

  • Turn south at the next circle and pass the picnic pavilions and take the trail south by Sucker Lake.

  • At Cty Rd F, turn east and go a short distance to a trail that goes south across from Primrose Path.

  • Follow the trail to Edgerton St and turn south.

  • Turn west on Vadnais Blvd and go to Vadnais Lake Rd.

  • Turn north and follow the trail to Cty Rd F.

  • Cross Cty Rd F and take the same trail you rode in the first part of the ride.

  • At Rice St., turn north and then west on Hwy 96 and return to the Shoreview CC.
