Bald Eagle/Centerville Lakes Loop
A road and trail ride.
Approximate distance: 26 mi
This is a loop ride that mostly is on roads with light traffic and scenic views. Some of the roads have bike trails along the roads. The roads pass through three different counties (Ramsey, Anoka, and Washington). The route also goes through Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Park Preserve which includes riding some trail segments in that park. All the road portions of the route are on roads with wide shoulders. The entire route is relatively flat.
Directions:
Go east from the Shoreview CC on Hwy 96 to White Bear Lake.
Turn north on 2nd Ave for one block.
Turn east on Eugene St. and go two blocks to Bald Eagle Ave.
Go north to Bald Eagle Lake, turn east on Bald Eagle Blvd.
Continue on Bald Eagle Blvd to Buffalo St. where you will turn east.
Take Buffalo St. to Hugo Rd. where you will turn north.
Continue on Hugo Rd. to N. County Line Rd. where you will turn west.
When the road curves to the north, it becomes Everton Ave. - continue north on this road to 122nd St. N.
Turn onto 122nd St. N. to Elmcrest Ave. N. where you will turn north.
After Elmcrest Ave. N. curves to the west, intersecting Jardin Ave., it becomes E. Cedar St.
Continue on E. Cedar St. to Otter Lake Rd. where you will turn north.
Follow Otter Lake Rd. to Main St. where you will turn west.
Follow Main St. passing over I-35E into downtown Centerville. Continue on Main St. until the entrance to Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Park Preserve.
Turn at the park entrance and follow the road or the bike trail into the park.
Near the boat launch area, turn west on a bike trail that travels through wetland and forest areas.
At the end of the trail go south on W. Shadow Lake Dr. through a residential area of Lino Lakes.
When you reach Birch St., turn west and follow a trail along Birch St. to Hodgson Rd. where you will turn south.
When you reach Hodgson Rd. Connection, turn and go south to Tanglewood Rd.
Go west on Tanglewood Rd. to Victoria St.
Turn south on Victoria St. and return to Shoreview CC.
