Week Nine Composite top 25

For the second straight week, #1 UCLA is the unanimous top team in the country. The Bruins swept East Carolina and entrenched themselves as the team to beat. #2 Mississippi State earned a series sweep over Alabama and jumped up four spots. #3 Stanford also swept a conference foe in Washington and comes in just ahead of #4 Oregon State who took two out of three on the road against Arizona State. At #5, Georgia falls three spots after getting shutout by Tennessee twice.

Just out of the top five, is #6 Vanderbilt who took a series against Arkansas. #7 Louisville and #8 UCSB both move up 11 spots this week after impressive sweeps. The Cardinals took down NC State, and the Gauchos swept UC Irvine. UCSB is the highested rated mid-major, coming out of the Big West Conference. #9 Texas A&M and #10 NC State round out the top ten.

#11 Arkansas, #12 LSU, and #13 East Carolina all slide after series losses to ranked opponents. LSU ran into an upstart Missouri team that is making a postseason push despite a questionable ban that they are currently appealing. Finishing out the top 15 are #14 North Carolina and #15 Arizona State.

At #16, Georgia Tech took two out of three from Boston College. Slipping down three spots to #17, Ole Miss lost two out of three to Kentucky. The rest of the top 20 all come from the Big XII: #18 Texas Tech, #19 Baylor, and #20 TCU. The Big XII is still looking for a front runner. Rounding out the top 25 are #21 Clemson, #22 Texas, #23 West Virginia, #24 UC Irvine, and #25 Tennessee. West Virginia enters the top 25 for the first time this season, and Tennessee is back into the top 25 after winning their series against Georgia.
