Another weekend is wrapped up and we're another weekend closer to Omaha. Get the rundown on the new Top 25!

Eight for Omaha

UCLA still sits atop the rankings after heading to Arizona State and winning two out of three games. The series started with a tough 3-2 Friday night win followed by a dominating 18-3 performance by the Bruins on Saturday. The Sun Devils bounced back to win 8-7 on Sunday. Just behind the Bruins, #2 Vanderbilt passes up #3 Stanford in this week's rankings. The Commodores swept South Carolina, outscoring the Gamecocks 37-16 in the process. Stanford took two from USC on the road to stay atop the Pac-12 standings but continues to see their RPI drop. The Cardinal have a back-loaded schedule and have yet to face Arizona State, Oregon State, or Cal. One of the most consistent teams in the country, #4 Arkansas won two out of three at Kentucky and is the likely favorite to win the SEC West.

The highest ranked ACC team is #5 Louisville who swept Notre Dame in South Bend in convincing fashion. #6 Mississippi State traveled to hostile College Station and won two games against Texas A&M, while #7 Georgia swept Florida, potentially ending the Gator's at-large bid hopes. #8 ECU wraps up the top eight this week. The Pirates swept Cincinnati to take a commanding lead in the American.

Host Hopefuls

#9 Georgia Tech took a break from ACC play and thoroughly outplayed Western Carolina in a three-game sweep. The first representative in the rankings from the Big XII is #10 Texas Tech who earned the road sweep over a tough Oklahoma team. The Red Raiders are 0.5 games out of first place in the Big XII standings. #11 UCSB is the highest ranked mid-major, hailing from the Big West Conference. The Gauchos bounced back from their first series loss of the year to sweep Cal State Northridge on the road. Falling eight spots, #12 Oregon State suffered an 0-4 week, culminated by a sweep from Oklahoma State in Corvallis. Despite the down week, the Beavers are still tied for the lead in the Pac-12 standings and could remain in hosting position should the finish the season strong.

#13 North Carolina was off over the weekend but returns to action with two midweek games this upcoming week and a weekend series against Pitt. #14 Ole Miss moved into likely hosting position after taking two out of three from LSU. The Rebels have shot up the SEC standings, winning five of their last six games in conference. Coming off a series win against an improved Kansas State team, #15 Baylor leads the Big XII standings, and is in contention for a top-16 bid. #16 LSU may be on the outside looking in for a bid right now after dropping a conference series to Ole Miss. The committee will only allow so many SEC hosts.

Gunning for a Regional

Moving up three spots, #17 NC State swept Radford over the weekend and continues to bounce back from their mid-season slump. #18 Texas A&M dropped their series against Mississippi State but will have the opportunity to regroup when they face off with Alabama next weekend. Checking in next is #19 Miami who swept Bethune-Cookman. The Canes return to to ACC play this weekend, facing off against a Wake Forest team that is desperate for a series win. Perhaps the biggest surprise of the week was #20 Oklahoma State going on the road and sweeping Oregon State. The sweep launched the Cowboys eight spots up in the rankings and put them back in the hosting conversation.

After losing two of three to TCU, #21 West Virginia slipped two spots in the rankings. At 11-10 in Big XII play, the Mountaineers will have to be careful not to fall below .500 in conference. #22 Missouri moved up five spots after taking a must-win series against Tennessee. Hanging in the top 25, #23 Arizona State was exposed in a series defeat doled out by UCLA. The Sun Devils rallied to salvage the series and earn an important, RPI-boosting win. The sole representative from the Big Ten, #24 Michigan swept Maryland to win their tenth straight conference game. Rounding out the rankings, #25 Florida State makes their return to the top 25 after a tumultuous year. Will the Seminoles be able to hold on and send Mike Martin back to a Regional in his last season as head coach?
