After running multiple 90-minute to 2-hour Blood on the Clocktower games at conventions, I've encountered rare instances where players who have been dealt in as a non-Traveler player must leave and break the game state.
Once players are "dealt in" as participants, they need to stay for the whole ride.
A Storyteller can take preventative measures against this happening by simply asking "Does anyone have a commitment that they must leave for in the next 2 hours?" and assigning players to be Travelers as appropriate.
The Fiddler Fabled is an option to resolve a game that can no longer progress as intended.
If there are limited slots and players have waited in line for an opportunity to play, concluding a game that's 20-minutes into its allotted run time slot and re-racking into a Doomsayer Fabled game that will likely be Fiddled anyway may give the committed players a suboptimal experience.
So, I created two homebrew Fabled that can salvage a game that "breaks" early. These are XL Floor Reminders meant to be printed on matte 110 lb card stock and placed on the ground when deployed.
I keep these in my kit to be prepared.

Player(s) have left the game early and will not return. Up to 2 players may have their roles and/or alignments changed immediately.
This role was created after a few instances of players removing themselves from a game for personal reasons, medical necessity, or an ejection for bad sportsmanship or conduct.
The "up to 2 players" option permits the Storyteller to sew the game back together in the event of a departing player divulging privileged game information to the group on the way out of the door.
If the departure happens early, this Fabled provides cover to adjust the game state and keep the game going. This Fabled was designed to be faster than a re-rack.
If the departing player was dead and spent their dead vote, a change may not be needed.
If the departing player is the Demon, then a change will absolutely be needed. Consider arranging a consensual "star pass" to a living Minion.
If the unavoidable departure happens very early in the game, consider the possibility that a re-rack may be a better solution.
If the unavoidable departure happens late in the game, the Storyteller should think carefully about how to handle the character and alignment changes so as not to award the game to one team.

Substitute player(s) have joined the game. Substitutes learn the exiting player’s role, ability use, night information, and pertinent game information directly from the Storyteller.
This role was create to formalize the process of letting substitutes enter a game in progress where a non-Traveler player seat needs to be filled.
If the substitution takes place within the first day or two, there will not be much night information that the new player will need to learn. The Storyteller can quickly get them up to speed and get on with the game.
If more than half of the down is dead and/or a satisfactory amount of time has passed playing the game, it's easier and probably best to deploy the Fiddler Fabled or declare "No Contest" instead of using the Bench fabled.
