Updating lead status in HubSpot is essential for several reasons, as it impacts both individual sales performance and overall team effectiveness. Here's why keeping lead status up to date is important
Keeping lead statuses updated ensures your sales pipeline is organized, allowing you to clearly see where each lead stands in the sales process. This helps in identifying which leads need attention, follow-ups, or are ready to be closed
An updated lead status helps sales reps prioritize leads based on their readiness to convert. Leads marked as "Hot" or "Qualified" will take precedence over colder leads, leading to more efficient use of time and resources
An updated lead status prevents multiple sales reps from unknowingly working on the same lead, reducing redundancy and confusion within the team
How to update Lead Status in HubSpot
You can update a lead status in 2 different ways
From the contact list on your HubSpot homepage, choose the customer you'd like to update and from the lead status column click the dropdown and choose the appropriate lead status
New - for customers recently uploaded and quoted
In Progress - Customers who showed interest in booking a move but still requires deposit
Connected - If booking is already confirmed
Bad Timing - for lost leads due to move done
2. Another way to update a lead's status is by clicking the customer's name on the contact list and updating it's status directly from their profile
