THE DESCENT — SETUP GUIDE for steam or other MP & dedicated servers
The Descent is now included with The Asylum Overhaul.
PLAYER map DISTRIBUTION (this must be done for multiplayer to prevent issues)
Step 1: Share the generated map folder with all players
Step 2: Each player places it in their:
Users → Username → AppData → Roaming → 7DaysToDie → GeneratedWorlds
each player can join seperately as long as they have the map in their generated worlds folder first
New Players: before a new player joins they need to be given the original world manually
SINGLE PLAYER SETUP
Step 1: Launch the game
Step 2: Click New Game
Step 3: Select the Advanced Gen tab
Do NOT use the regular “Generate Map” button
Step 4: Adjust settings as desired and click Generate Map
Step 5: Wait for generation to complete
Once finished, the world is ready to play.
MULTIPLAYER SETUP
Requirements
All players must have Asylum Overhaul installed in their Mods folder (steam and server MP)
The server If using, must also have Asylum Overhaul installed in its Mods folder
Important
You cannot generate a cave-enabled map directly on the server.
If you generate a map server-side, it will work — but caves will not be included.
Maps must be generated on a client PC first.

CLIENT SIDE — Map Generation
Step 1: Generate the map on your PC using the Single Player steps above
Step 2: Locate the generated world in:
Users → YourUsername → AppData → Roaming → 7DaysToDie → GeneratedWorlds
Step 3: (Optional) Rename the map folder if desired
SERVER SIDE — Upload & Configuration
Step 1: Upload the entire generated map folder to:
/data/Worlds/
Step 2: Edit your serverconfig.xml and set:
GameWorld = Your map folder name
WorldGenSize = Same size used during generation (e.g., 8192)
GameName = Your map folder name
