Your character is accepted and you're ready to get working on their story!
Below is a small guide on what is accepted as a submission, and how much in game currency you'll gain for your hard work!
Don't worry about what to buy, or where to keep track of things - we'll cover that on the next page!
Before we start;
All application artwork MUST be your own. Additionally, we do not allow submissions to the group (outside of specified gift art/commission folders) that are not your own. Using premade art, lineart, tracing and/or AI artwork is not accepted.
Also, to reiterate;
In Starlit, we do not allow pieces that use the following topics; rape, sex, sexual assault, suicide. We ask that you please refrain from using these as story lines to keep from triggering viewers or fellow players.
If you have a piece that might be considered sensitive (extreme swearing, verbal assault/abuse, violence, etc) please tag it accordingly. For literature or roleplay, please tag it at the top of the document for better visibility. We are a mature roleplay, and some material may be offensive, but the opinions and actions of the characters do not reflect the views of the group.
Please submit your pieces to the appropriate folders! If you aren’t sure where something goes - just ask!
Payout Guide
To be applicable to receive Star Dust, your piece has to be at least a very clean sketch with proper colouring. Monochrome pieces will be judged on a case by case basis, but must have enough detail in them to clearly define characters/markings/etc.
We do not award Star Dust for backgrounds in ASH, instead we award based on how much of your character is visible in the piece.
Please note that medallions created as JUST a medallion (as opposed to an existing, submittable art piece being cropped) do not count for Dust!
Headshot
Headshots encompass the head, and may include the paws and tail of your character.
+ 8 Star Dust
Halfbody
Halfbody encompasses the bust, both front legs in full, and may also feature their tail, and back paws.
+ 16 Star Dust
Fullbody
Fullbody pieces encompass either the full character, or 90% of the character. Must include the back end of the character, including a back leg at the very least - tail not necessary.
+ 25 Star Dust
Background Limitations
While backgrounds are not factored in to currency payout, we do ask that you have a tangible background in your pieces.
Pieces that have a background that consists of nothing but a gradient, or abstract shapes, will not be eligible for Star Dust, and therefore will not count toward Activity or Seasonal Checks.
Now, there will be times where a piece may not have the most realistic backgrounds, either due to the piece taking place in a dream, or maybe they have to do with the deities or spirits of your packs beliefs - these are fine as long, as stated above, the backgrounds have substance to them.
Collabs
Collaborations are awarded Dust based on two different criteria; how much each person does, and how much of the players character is visible in the piece.
To cash in, simply send in a note as usual with the accumulated amount.

General Work Split
Add on the work YOU completed to get your general dust count!
Sketch = 5 Star Dust
Lineart = 5 Star Dust
Colouring = 5 Star Dust
Background = 5 Star Dust
Shading = 5 Star Dust
Character Visibility
This counts for YOUR character, not your collab partner!
Headshot = 10 Star Dust
Halfbody = 14 Star Dust
Fullbody = 18 Star Dust
"Sticker" Collabs
A "Sticker" Collab is when everyone draws their own character independently and then they get put on a finished piece.
If you are doing a collab where every person simply draws their own character and they get put into a large scale piece (almost like sticking them in like a sticker, which these collabs are sometimes referred to as) the cashing rules are different.
The person organizing the collab will get a lump sum of +15 Dust for doing the background and setting up the finished piece, alongside the visibility of their character, attributed to NON-COLLAB prices (+25 for a fullbody, +16 for a halfbody, etc).
If you are simply making a 'Sticker' of your character, you get the visibility payout attributed to NON-COLLAB prices (+25 for a fullbody, +16 for a halfbody, etc). They do not gain any General Work Split payout (see above), since the work was not split.
Comics
Comics, while being a lot of work, can also be a little complex to cash in.
To help visualize what's worth what, we have an illustrated example of how Dust would be calculated.
To count for a comic page, there must be at least two distinct panels, and there must be at least a full headshot (not the back of a characters head, or an obscured face) on the page.
By default, one comic page MUST be worth at least 8 Star Dust (the aforementioned headshot requirement), and you earn +X dust depending on how much of your character is visible as per the submission guidelines!
You cannot cash for extra +8's for tails, paws, eyes, etc.
Comic collabs are a little bit more involved!
There can be a MAXIMUM of FIVE players collaborating on a comic that can be cashed. It will pay out for even amounts of Dust throughout the contributors, and we'll be going over that here.
In this scenario, everyone is able to do one or more parts of the work to split the workload as evenly as possible, while also having their character appear in at least a headshot in the comic itself.
In this case, you simply tally up ALL of the characters by the collaboration submission guidelines (10, 14, 18 Dust respectively) and add on the parts of the collab you did to your own cashing note.
In the example to the left, each member would cash 62 Star Dust, and then +5's for whatever part of the work they did (background, lining, etc).
Lit Pieces
For literature, every 500 words is 5 Dust, and goes up by 5 every next 500.
500 words = 5 Dust
1,000 words = 10 Dust
2,000 words = 20 Dust
(and so on)
RP
In a post-by-post RP, 10 Dust are awarded every 4 posts per player.
IE; you post twice, you get 5 Dust.
Please note that post-by-post responses should be at least several sentences - posts under 4 sentences will not be counted.
In a script style RP where the posts are intertwined, it becomes subject to the literature piece calculation; every 500 words earns participants 5 Dust each.

Pack Member Bonus
+8 Star Dust

If you include other player characters in your art piece (not counting characters that belong to a collab partner) you will receive a few extra Star Dust!
These do not stack, so whether you add one pack member or five, the number of extra Star Dust doesn't change.
The pack member MUST have clear markings showing (ie, no vague shadows or shapes) and enough of them must be visible to discern in the piece (ie, not just a paw/tail)!
Companion Bonus
+8 Star Dust
ART, RP AND LITERATURE, ONLY ONCE PER COMIC PAGE
If you include your character's Companion's in an art piece, you will receive a few extra Star Dust!
These also do not stack, so adding more companions to a piece (or other character's companions) do not multiply the bonus.
Pack Specific Bonus
+8 Star Dust
ART, RP AND LITERATURE, ONLY ONCE PER COMIC PAGE
Your pack has traditions and rites of passage, and in order to encourage players to depict these, we award an extra handful of Dust if you decide to participate!

DeviantArt, lovely site it is, loves to change where stuff is on it's layout.
Here's how to submit things to the correct folder!
First, submit your piece to DeviantArt as is normal.
Then, navigate to the group and hit submit.
Select Add Existing Deviation.
To select the correct folder, click on the arrow beside Featured at the top of the Select Deviation pop-up screen.
Then, simply select the correct folder from the drop down list!
Nothing to it!
Now, if you're new to dARPGs this might all be a little overwhelming, but don't worry!
Upon joining ASH, a personal private ticket with your name on it is created in the groups discord server. This ticket will have your player sheet link so you don't lose it!
In it, you have a full rundown on how exactly cashing works, how to do it, and a copy paste form for you to fill out! It's as simple as following the instructions.
Promise it's not hard!
In this ticket, you can see the entire history of your cashing and purchases as an easy way to check to see if you've submitted for activity that month. You can also check this in your player sheet!
Once the message is sent, a staff member will check over your message to make sure the counts you put in match the piece(s) submitted. They will then add your Star Dust to your inventory sheet (we'll talk more about that on the next page), or correct any mistakes for you!
Once processed, staff will add a check mark to your message to signify that it's been added.
You only cash your own Star Dust, for your own characters - even if you are doing a collab or an RP with someone, you only cash for yourself!
Alright, you've got a good handle on what you can submit and what you can't, and you're all ready to start drawing and writing!
