Wolves just not cutting it for ya? Well, you're in the right spot!
As per the creation and purchase rules, every member in ASH is allowed to have two Other Creature characters. They are separated from your wolf character purchase prices (you will not receive an other creature for free even if they are your second ever character) as follows;
Other Creature 1 - 2 Stars
Other Creature 2 - 3 Stars
The rules for creating a non-wolf character is pretty much the same as creating a companion creature; the animal MUST exist within North America (extending to Northern Mexico) and cannot be from outside areas.Â
As per the character creation page:
"A Starlit Horizon is set in a fictional version of North America, but one where invasive and introduced species still exist in their 'new' habitats in NA. Imagine it as though humans did exist here, but then suddenly vanished."
So while they don't need to be NATIVE to North America, but they must exist/live on the continent.
IE; Feral horses, fallow deer, house sparrows, etc, are all invasive species, but still live in North America and are continuing to populate and thrive.
This does not extend to animals from zoos (elephants, giraffes, etc) that could not feasibly survive in North America for an extended period of time across generations.
The only REAL rule we have against other creatures that exist in NA is house cats and domestic dogs/coydogs/etc, so please keep this in mind!
So you've picked a species, what's next?
Well, much the same as companions, you simply fill out a biography, draw an application and send it in a note!
Make sure that they fit within the specifics of the species unless you're purchasing mutations for them, or making them over/undersized, and you're good to go. Submit it just how you would a normal character and staff will review and accept/decline as needed!
Other creatures, just like Outlanders, are free to wander the wilds as they like! And, like Outlanders, they are allowed one companion animal, must purchase items from Vanity, and are unable to use the Exploration feature.
This is ENTIRELY up to the pack leader out of character - please do not spring this onto any staff or pack leaders publicly or in roleplays/artwork without asking first, or you will be at risk of receiving an official warning. Note the group or ticket in if you want to plan something out!
Additionally, other creatures, like Outlanders, may, on occasion, request to join a wolf pack!
Also, like Outlanders, Other Creatures CAN have a companion, but only one no matter the size!
Aaand that's pretty much it!
Happy creating!
