Currently in ASH there are four packs to choose from;

Claymere, Stelune, Xiaya and Vøskarig.

Just a note; how much or how little your pack has in terms of information, prompts, and activity in terms of group wide plots, etc, is completely up to your leader. Other leaders and staff behind the scenes will offer as much help as we can, but ultimately, sometimes things might happen where a pack cannot participate to the fullest extent, and this is not the fault of other players or leaders.

Leaders and staff will be as transparent as possible if something arises that leaves a pack unable to participate.

The Clay Valley has been home to the wolves of Claymere for generations. Their pack was founded on the bloodstained banks of The Mere, and through trial and tribulation, war and famine, floods and droughts, these wolves have remained stalwart and implacable with their Patrons to guide them. Keepers of their great sanctum, Claymere viciously guards their Patrons tether to the mortal plane as well as fostering the trade of knowledge and goods amongst outsiders in a new and more peaceful age.

This pack's culture and lore reflect real-life Medieval times, as well as influences from Old English and Old Germanic Folklore and tradition. Claymere’s religious and healer tasks are heavily influenced by Paganism.

The wolves of Stelune have stewarded over Lightspeak Valley for as long as anyone can remember - generations of Stelunites have guarded and protected the great mountain that lies within it since what was believed to be the founding of their pack eons ago. Lorekeepers, guardians, and watchers of the stars, Stelunites have a deep-rooted mythology that they build on with each passing generation.

This pack’s culture and lore are based heavily on fantasy mythology, and pulls inspiration from the universe of Critical Role and Dungeons & Dragons.

Xiaya territory was birthed when the Gods molded the Mortal Plane for all of creation. Rising from the jagged hills stood a great mountain, a vast sea of crimson flowers, golden aspen, and endless fields surrounding it.

Now, largely wiped out by an asteroid crater, the land suffers under harsh wastelands, cruel winters, and sweltering summers. Formerly closed off to outsiders, the Cult of Xiaya have welcomed newcomers to the barren territory in hopes of spurring trade and expanding their influence.

This pack is based entirely on delusion, and takes no inspiration from real nor fictional events or people.

These large, nomadic tundra wolves have learned to inhabit harsh northern climates with frigid winters and chilled summers. These wolves are hearty and brutal, yet their way of life is inherently benevolent.

With bonds forged through comradery and an intrinsic desire to protect and maintain the lands they traverse, Vøskarig is built on the foundation of protecting ones' home while offering haven to those who dare to brave the blizzards.

This pack takes influence from Witcher, Ranger's Apprentice, D&D and Nordic runes / language. No harm is intended with the creation of the pack and Vøskarig is in no way an accurate representation of any of the aforementioned.

While we originally planned to have three starting packs, PaperElk has decided to keep the third that was meant to be headed by her as a later addition, to make it easier for her to do behind the scenes work as the group finds its legs.

Eventually, said pack will be brought into ASH, but we WILL be holding pack auditions for players to apply with their ideas in the future as well! We will update the website with how to do so and what information you'll need as we progress in the next few months.

Outlanders are lone wolves who do not live within any of the packs on the map. Because they are not bound to territories and borders, they are free to travel as they please.

You have one free Outlander slot, but MUST have two active pack wolves before applying for a second Outlander character.

While being free to see the world is nice, Outlanders are restricted with certain things.

Because they can freely travel, and because they lack a ranking system the packs provide, they are restricted from using the Exploration system.

Vanity is the only available vendor to them; they have no set home, so common items do not exist to them. This means they are restricted to her prices alone.

While the map is still covered in fog (pending Exploration from pack wolves) Outlander players will just have to resort to your imagination for settings and surroundings.

Just keep in mind that ASH is set in a fictional North America, so the world reflects that in kind!
