Bachelor of Arts (BA)

Geography concerns with the spatio-temporal analysis of the physical, social, cultural, religious, political, etc. components. Geography mainly concerns changes in spatial attributes from a temporal perspective. The nature of geography has been shifted from descriptive to decision making. All the decision-making processes are based on geographical understandings. Hence, the B.A. in geography is tailored to meet the students’ specific educational and professional goals in mind. It focuses on spatial studies, qualitative as well as quantitative, and emphasizes the human-environment relationship. During the first year of the program, the students are trained on advanced concepts of physical and human geography. The third-year allows them to concentrate on specific areas of the subject, on which they complete their field reports. After completing the course, the students will be amply prepared for professional careers in geography and allied disciplines like GIS and Remote Sensing. They will also be able to pursue M.A. /M.Sc. Course in Geography.

PO 1. The students acquire knowledge in the field of social sciences, literature and humanities which make them sensitive and sensible enough. PO 2. The B.A. graduates will be acquainted with the social, economical, historical, geographical, political, ideological and philosophical tradition and thinking. PO 3. The program also empowers the graduates to appear for various competitive examinations or choose the post graduate programme of their choice. PO 4.The B. A. program enables the students to aquire the knowledge with human values framing the base to deal with various problems in life with courage and humanity. PO 5. The students will be ignited enough to think and act over for the solution of various issues prevailed in the human life to make this world better than ever. PO 6. Programme provides the base to be the responsible citizen
