> Read all about POD: https://www.getty.edu/education/teachers/building_lessons/principles_design.pdf
> Create a document and take notes using your own words about the Principles of Design. A few sentences for each one will be fine.
Take a look at these works of art:
> Choose one from the fine arts (Van Gogh/ Hokusai) OR from the modern graphic design posters (music/ festivals). *Label what you are describing within your paragraph.
> Look at it closely.
> Now tell me, do you see the principles of design? Do you see balance, emphasis, unity, etc?
> What principles of design did you find in the artwork?
* Write a short paragraph identifying at least three principles of design. Explain how the artist used the principles in the painting. *Label what you are describing within your paragraph.
Oil painting on canvas
Choose one principle of design.
> Use one side or half a page of your (paper) sketchbook, (the other half of the elements of art drawing) draw anything you want as a way to illustrate this principle of design. Make sure you label your drawing, "Principle of Design-(name which one)"
> Have fun with it!
