Class overview
Welcome to Art 1!
Art 1 is an elementary art class that focuses on and explores the fundamentals of the elements of art and the principles of design. From line drawings to adding coloring and transitioning into digital drawing, this class will be exciting.
Basic techniques will be presented to inspire creativity and progression throughout the course. One and two point perspectives will be taught along with contour line, learning how to shade to create value and form, and other techniques will be explored throughout the course. Artistic expression will expand an individual's horizon and succeed through their experiences of drawing with such materials as graphite, charcoal, fine markers, colored pencils, watercolor, acrylic paint, and pastels. This course is a foundational course that prepares students for additional art opportunities in the intermediate courses.
