“Literature is the most agreeable way of ignoring life.”
― Fernando Pessoa
Literature adds to reality, it does not simply describe it. It enriches the necessary competencies that daily life requires and provides; and in this respect, it irrigates the deserts that our lives have already become.
Literature reflects society and social relations, transforms everyday language, and evokes emotions in the reader. It is also a testimony to the life of the author. Good literature can bring us face to face with perennial questions of humanity.
The following selection is based only on my own preferences. It includes mostly English and German texts.
I have also included a section on art, which may be expanded in the future.
I hope you enjoy this site. Feel free to send me your literature recommendations, I might include them here.
