This page describe some basic forms that new and intermediate players can use.
The first row is used as tanks that absorb the initial wave of enemy attack and reduces the effectiveness of enemy's offense.
The row(s) behind the first row is the main offense.
Catatuses reflects damage from enemy's melee troops. They are slow and should be put on the front line.
Goblikazes create an explosion with lasting damage to enemy units. They should be spaced out to maximize their coverage.
Paladins have the most combined health points among all troops. They can stall enemy's front line.
Inquisitors have high attack power but they are not as valuable as other troops because they lack special skills. Use them as tanks if you have no other options.
Undead soldiers can revive once and they move quickly. They are preferred attack units.
Viking warriors may look small but have higher health point, speed, and attack power than the awkward ogres. They can charge into enemy's front line and wreck havoc.
The reinforcement troops provide additional support to the front line offense.
Bandits are unique troops. At the beginning of a battle, they would throw knives five times before charging into enemy units. They are versatile and can be placed anywhere in the formation other than the first line.
Harbingers of fire are semi-ranged troops. Their fire can attack multiple enemy units even if they are blocked by friendly troops.
Pilgrims can heal friendly troops. They cannot take much damage themselves so they should be protected.
Hell jailers can fly through friendly units and attack enemy.
Range units are all the rage now. In the arena, the side with most range units often win the battle.
Ice mages can target an area with their ice detonation skill to slow down enemy's movement. They increase the effectiveness of your other range troops.
Archers have unlimited range and they are the best defense against peltasts.
Catapults may seem slow, but their burning oil skill can inflict heavy damage to enemy's range units.
Fire mages are underwhelming and should be used only if you have no better options.
Offense from enemy line can divide enemy troops attention.
Position back-line ambushers troops so that your troops are more spread out.
Magic apprentices fly to the back of enemy army to attack. At the start of battle, they cannot be targeted by the enemy, making them valuable in countering Poseidon and Selene.
Position apprentices at first or second rows if you want them to arrive at enemy's back faster. Position them further to the back if you want them to evade explosion from enemy's goblikazes.
Ghost assassins blink to the back of enemy line. Position them so they trigger the opponent's goblikazes before your magic apprentices arrive at enemy's back.
Demons have high health points and can deal damage to multiple units. Use them sparingly.
Back-line defense is essential to protect vulnerable range units. Slow moving melee troops are preferred for back-line defense.
Ogres do not do much damage, but they can repel magic apprentices to buy time for your front-line troops to return to the back.
Harbingers of fire are the preferred troops for back-line defense. Their fire can handle multiple enemy units at the same time. If you do not have enough harbingers, put them in front line to focus on attack instead.
Paladins are great tank units that can hold back enemy units.
Goblikazes can defend against attack from ghost assassins. Space them out for more coverage.
