The Reserva de Avifauna Sutú is a private natural reserve located in the region of the upper San Juan River, vereda Costa Rica, northern Mistrató, Risaralda, Colombia, approximately 1600 masl. The reserve has a portion of forest in a good state of conservation corresponding to the Andean-Chocó biogeographic ecosystem, since it has both Chocoan elements from lowland areas and highland Andean elements, which makes it a key point for research and conservation. Additionally, its extensive wealth of water resources has shaped over time an ecosystem very rich in diversity of plants and animals, and of course spiders!

The "Spiders of the Sutú Avifauna Reserve" is configured as a sub-project of the macro-project "Spiders of the Upper San Juan River".
