Rubio et al. (2023) published new taxonomic data on the Neotropical jumping spider genus Chira (Salticidae) from South America, with the description of three new species: C. hanagarthi (Bolivia), C. ivyatenea (Argentina, Brazil) and C. stolari (Brazil)! Dupérré & Tapia (2023) described and published two new species of the orb-weaving genus Testudinaria (Araneidae) from Amazonian Ecuador! In the same paper, the authors described a peculiar and unique eye arrangement, never observed in araneoid spiders, where the anterior median eyes and the posterior median eyes are situated on the sides of the carapace! Sharma et al. (2023) published a new phylogenetic and dated analysis of Scorpions (Scorpiones)! Their results demonstrated that sister group relationship of Bothriuridae to the clade (“Chactoidea”+Scorpionoidea), and show that scorpions underwent ancient diversification between the Devonian and early Carboniferous. Analysed bothriurids (a derived group that excludes exemplars from South Africa) spans the timing of breakup of temperate Gondwana! More on Bothriuridae!

Peñaherrera et al. (2023) described and published two new species of the tarantula genus Neischnocolus (Theraphosidae) from Eastern and Wester Ecuador! These new species are now known from the province of Morona Santiago (N. tsere) and from the province of Santo Domingo de los Tsachilas (N. cisnerosi)! More on Spiders!

García & Bonaldo (2023) published a new taxonomic revision of the soldier spider genus Falconina (Corinnidae) from Neotropical region, including the description of three new species from Colombia (F. andresi), Venezuela (F. brognolii) and Bolivia (F. taita)! In addition, the authors redescribed the Ecuadorian F. albomaculosa (Schmidt) based on the female holotype and additional material from Ecuador, with the male being described for the first time! Matos & Ruiz (2023) revised the vicana species group  of the jumping spider genus Matinta (Salticidae), describing three new species from Neotropical region! One of which was described from souther Ecuador, at Morona Santiago! This is the third species of this genus to be described from the country! More on Spiders!

Peñaherrera-R. (2023) described three new tarantula species of the genus Cymbiapophysa (Theraphosidae) from south, central and northern Ecuador, increasing the knowledge of the genus in the region! Thanks to WSC (2023) initiative on new and old publications on spider taxonomy, was possible to find the paper by Carcavallo & Martínez (1967), where authors described a few new species of the spider genus Xenoctenus (Xenoctenidae) from Bolivia (X. gomezraggioi) and Colombia (X. proseni). This is also a new  record of this genus to the Arachnids from Tropical Andean Countries - ArachnoTrAC! More on Spiders!

Bolaño-Manjarres et al. (2023) evaluated the diversity of tarantulas along an altitudinal gradient of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, northern Colombia! (2023) revisit the classification and taxonomy of globin spider genus Hexapopha (Oonopidae) from Central and South America, describing 35 new species, two of which are now known from Peru (H. pithecia) and Venezuela (H. sorkini)! Martínez et al. (2023) revisit the classification and taxonomy of the ant-eating species group trilobatus of the genus Tenedos O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1897 (Araneae: Zodariidae) from Colombia, with the redescription of the previously known T. trilobatus and T. figaro, and the description and illustration of seven new species from Colombia! Kuntner et al. (2023) revisit the classification problem of Orbipurae, an unranked suprafamilial clade containing the spider families Nephilidae, Phonognathidae, and Araneidae sensu stricto. Results on this new analysis re-validated Nephilidae as a different separated group from Araneidae, together with its more known ArachnoTrAC member: Trichonephila, and described the new Old World family Paraplectanoididae! Dupérré et al. (2023) described and published 38 new species of the mygalomorph genus Linothele (Dipluridae) from Ecuador! Perger et al. (2023) described and published a new species of ant-resembling jumping spider genus Flurica (Salticidae: Salticinae: Simonellini) from the Beni department, Bolivia! This is the second species of the genus to be described from this endemic genus from Bolivia! More on Spiders!

Sherwood & Gabriel (2023) published a new species of the genus tarantula genus Cymbiapophysa (Therphosidae) from Ecuador, from a locality named as "Carondelet". This species was named as Cymbiapophysa seldeni and it is the second species of the genus to be known from the country. More on Spiders!

Echeverri et al. (2023) described and published four new species of the genera Ummidia (Halonoproctidae: U. solana sp. nov.), and Euthycaelus, Melloina and Neischnocolus (Theraphosidae: E. cunampia sp. nov., M. pacifica sp. nov. and N. mecana sp. nov.) all now known from the Pacific region at Chocó department, western Colombia! Moreno-González et al. (2023) published a new systematic revision of the (previously) Old World family of whip spiders Paracharontidae, of which the authors described a new genus and species (Jorottui ipuanai gen. et sp. nov.) from Cave Ecosystems at Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, La Guajira, Colombia! Moreno-González et al. (2022) published new taxonomic data on the Tityus forcipula species group, and described a new species of the genus, T. moralensis, from southern Colombia, at Valle del Cauca department! Ott et al. (2023) published a new species of the tetragnathine genus Diphya Nicolet, 1849 (Araneae: Tetragnathidae) from Napo, Ecuador! In the same paper, authors also described the unknown female of D. bicolor Vellard, 1926 from Brazil, and presented new records of that species! More on Spiders!

Bäckstam et al. (2023) published a new species of the diplurid genus Linothele Karsch, 1879 (Araneae: Dipluridae) from central Colombia, at Meta department! Authors also made some other taxonomic comments on the recently described Linothele mubii Nicoletta, Ochoa, Chaparro & Ferretti, 2022 from Peru! More on Spiders!

Bertani & Raven (2023) redescribed and rediagnosed the mygalomorph genus Thalerommata Ausserer, 1875, transferring it from Barychelidae to Theraphosidae. In addition, the  authors described six new species of this group, of which two are from Colombia (T. huila and T. squamea) and one from Venezuela (T. maculata)! Chamé-Vázquez & Villarreal (2023) recorded for the first time the invasive and synanthropic spider species Tidarren cuneolatum (Tullgren, 1910) (Theridiidae) from the New World, in peridomiciliary environments at Venezuela!  More on Taxonomy!

Villarreal & Chamé-Vázquez (2023) recorded for the time the false violin spider family Drymusidae from Venezuela, with the description of a new species of the genus Drymusa! This is the first record of this family from the entire ArachnoTrAC region! More on Taxonomy!

Paredes-Mungia et al. (2023) described a new wolf spider genus (Lycosidae: Tropicosa) from South America, including species distributed from Colombia to Argentina. Hazzi & Hormiga (2023) published a new phylogenetic analysis of the tropical wandering spiders (Ctenidae), with comments on eye conformation in the RTA clade and new taxonomic changes! More on Taxonomy!

Peñaherrera-R. et al. (2023b) presented the first official record of the subfamily Ischnocolinae (Theraphosidae) from Ecuador, with a new record of Holothele longipes from near Puerto Misahuallí, upper River Napo basin! More on Taxonomy!

Ferreti et al. (2023) described a new monotypic Theraphosidae genus from northern Peru, with distinct genitalic morphology: Chinchaysuyu. Villarreal & Marimon (2022) published a new record of the pseudoscorpion family Sternophoridae from Colombia! This record represent the southernmost known record for the family, with the species Idiogaryops paludis (Chamberlin, 1932) from the Caribbean department of Atlántico, Colombia! Sherwood & Gabriel (2022) described and published two new genera (Anqasha and Murphyarachne) of theraphosine mygalomorph spiders (Theraphosidae), with the description of a new species from Peru! Anqasha picta (Pocock, 1903) gen. et comb. n. and Murphyarachne ymasumacae gen. et sp. n. Also, the holotype male of A. picta is redescribed, with the female described for the first time! (2021) described and illustrated a new scorpion species of the rare troglomorphic genus Troglotayosicus (Troglotayosicidae: T. ballvei) from Ecuador, at Archidona municipality, Napo province! Huber & Acurio (2022) presented new faunistic data on pholcid spiders from Galápagos Islands, focusing on two species that have been introduced to the archipelago by humans and whose spread appears correlated with, if not causally linked to, the decline or disappearance of two native species! Marimon et al. (2022) described two new species of Neotropical psedoscorpions of the genus Rhopalochernes (Chernetidae) (R. catalinae and R. luiscarlosi) from the Caribbean coast of Colombia. Palomino-Cárdenas et al. (2022) described a new species of the amblypygid genus Charinus (Charinidae) from Calca Province, department of Cusco, Peru. Perger & Pett (2022) described a new species of the spider genus Mazax O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1898 (Corinnidae: Castianeirinae) from the Bolivian orocline and the Paraguayan Chaco region. (2021) published a taxonomic revision of the whip spider family Charinidae, with the description of two new species from Colombia (C. miskito and C. mocoa) and one more new from Ecuador (C. guayaquil)! Amieva et al. (2022) described five new species of the pseudoscorpion family Syarinidae from Ecuador, three of which are now known in the genus Ideobisium and two in the genus Ideoblothrus. In addition, the authors re-analyse the previously recorded Ideobisium crassimanum and Ideoblothrus costaricensis, restricting their distributions to their type locations in Venezuela and Costa Rica, respectively. Villarreal et al. (2021) published new taxonomic data on harvestmen (Arachnida: Opiliones) from Venezuela, on the Gonyleptoidea superfamily. In addition, the authors update the number of species of Opiliones from Venezuela, for a total of 392 species (362 Laniatores, 29 Eupnoi, and one in Dyspnoi)! Marimon et al. (2021) described a new Colombian species of pseudoscorpion of the genus Pachychernes, now known as P. florezi, and also give new faunistic data on P. zehorum from the country. Štundlová et al. (2022) published a comprehensive phylogenetic molecular analysis of the scorpion family Bhutidae (the most diverse and rich group of scorpions), combining multilocus sequence data with extensive taxon sampling to reconstruct the phylogenetic relationships among Buthidae and assess the validity of the morphology-based groupings. Rheims & Jäger (2022) revalidated the huntsman-spider genus Sadala, describing three new species on it, and described the new Neotropical genus Meri, along with 20 new species, eleven of which are now known from Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador and Peru! (2022) described the use of fangs during the predatory jumps of jumping spiders, through use of a light beam trigger for still photographs, and slow motion (1920 fps) video, demostrating the role of fangs as primary weapons of attack by these spiders. de Oliveira & Brescovit (2021) revised the taxonomic status of the genus Tafana (Anyphaenidae) from the Neotropical region, along with a phylogenetic analysis, describing twelve new species, ten of which are now known from Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia! Silva-Moreira & Hormiga (2021) revised the systematics of the Neotropical genera Selenyphantes and Jalapyphantes, with the description of six new species! Additionally, the authors revised the type locality of J. obscurus Millidge, 1991 (♀, Ecuador), concluding it is erroneus and most likely refers to Sibundoy Valley, in Putumayo, Colombia! Mori & Bertani (2020) published a new cladistic analysis with taxonomic revision of the mygalomorph genera Psalistops, Trichopelma and Cyrtogrammomma. In the same paper, the authors included new comments and analyses of the phylogenetic relationships of the families Theraphosidae, Barychelidae and Paratropididae, transferring the paratropidid genus Melloina and the barychelid Psalistops to Theraphosidae! Huber & Villarreal (2020) carry out an extensive taxonomic review of the family Pholcidae from Venezuela, including (and partially revalidating) the material described by M.A. González-Sponga between 1998 and 2011. Hopfe et al. (2020) described a new species of spider of the genus Ocrepeira (Araneidae) from Colombia, whose material was collected in the Páramo de las Hermosas, Valle del Cauca.
