An Important Note About Passing Grades
A passing grade for AQ courses is 70%.
ALL course components (modules, tasks, assignments) must be completed to successfully complete this course.
If this is not the case, students will receive an 'INCOMPLETE', regardless of their grade.
If you have a student who has an incomplete grade, it is your responsibility to notify them of this.
End of Course Checklist
Towards the end of the course, the AQ office will send you an email with the following 'End of Course Checklist'. Please carefully review and complete each of the tasks at the end of the course.
Check Grades
Make the Final Grade Column in the gradebook visible (see 'Full Grade Center' section of handbook for information on how to do this)
Double check that all grades are being calculated correctly in the final grade column (if something doesn't look right, ask us!)
Ensure there are NO blank grades for students in the grade center. If students have missed a submission, please reach out to them directly and ensure they understand they will receive an 'incomplete' in the course if all components are not submitted.
Submit Grades to AQ Office
Enter grades onto the Excel grade sheet sent by the AQ Office (*Please do not send grades as a Google Doc or PDF. We use the Excel sheets for OCT submission and therefore need to be able to edit sheets*)
Ensure all grades are entered as WHOLE numbers. Please use consistent grading by accurately rounding grades to the nearest whole number (e.g. rounding UP if the grade is .50 or higher.) For more information about rounding grades, visit- Rounding Grades )
Send an email with your completed grade sheet to the general AQ@trentu.ca email box within 7 days of course completion. (*Please do not submit your grade sheet prior to the deadline if you are still waiting on grades for certain students.)
AN IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT GRADE SUBMISSIONS
If you make any changes to the grades after submitting the grade sheet to us – let us know and send the updated grade sheet
If you are waiting on a student to submit work because you have given them some extra time, please wait to submit all grades together on the grades deadline (7 days after the end of the course)
Enter Final Grades Online
Ensure all final grades are entered in the MyTrent portal.
Email Students
Send an email to students indicating that their final grades are now available in the course under "My Grades"
If you have a student that is not going to pass the course (receiving a grade less than 70% OR missing assignments/tasks), please email them one final time to let them know they will receive a fail or incomplete in the course.
Keep a Record
Save a copy of your final grades and a breakdown of how the final grades were calculated. Note: Copies of old Blackboard courses are not saved.
