Implement UN Rulings on Julian Assange

The UK government MUST, abide by the UN Human Rights Council's 2015 ruling , adopted on the 4th of December 2015 to ensure the right of free movement of Julian Assange - as per Article 5 of the Human Rights Act - and accord him an enforceable right to compensation, in accordance with article 9(5) of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.

The Working Group on Torture ruled that Julian Assange's ongoing arbitrary detention in Belmarsh Maximum Security Prison amounts to torture and calls for his immediate release - as per Article 3 of the Human Rights Act.

We hereby remind you that the United Kingdom is signatory to the 1948 International Declaration of Human Rights and The International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.

It is your duty to the international community to ensure that your Courts and Institutions abide by these agreements and implement the recommendations of the United Nations Human Rights Council and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights.
