1. What are the essential expenses you would need to consider when planning your projected cost of living, and how would you prioritize them?
As a senior high school student, the essential expenses I would consider include food, transportation, school supplies, internet load, and allowance for projects or activities. Since I come from a middle-class family, I would prioritize the things I really need for school and daily life before spending on wants. I also try to save a small amount from my allowance each week, even if it’s just a few pesos, so I can use it in emergencies or for future needs.
2. How do you think your lifestyle choices (e.g., housing, transportation, food) would affect your projected cost of living, and what adjustments could you make to stay within your budget?
My lifestyle choices can really affect how I spend money. For example, if I buy food outside every day, my expenses become higher, so I try to bring baon or eat at home before going to school. I also take public transportation instead of commuting by tricycle all the time to save money. To stay within my budget, I choose affordable options and remind myself to spend only on what’s necessary.
3. If you were to move to a new city or country for work or education, what factors would you consider when estimating your projected cost of living, and how would you research the costs?
If I were to move to a new city or country, I would first check the cost of rent, food, transportation, and tuition. I’d also think about safety and how far the place is from school or work. To know the costs, I would research online, watch vlogs of students living there, or ask relatives and friends who already live in that place. That way, I can plan my budget better and adjust my lifestyle so I can manage my expenses even as a middle-class student.
