The 1990's Paintings

These are some of the paintings from my first decade of painting. In this era I painted large impasto oil paintings in the studio and used my woodworking skills to make very heavy solid Rimu frames from recycled New Zealand hardwood. Rimu is a large native New Zealand tree that can no longer be harvested and it is very precious. I had three solo exhibitions in this era with the first being at Radio 1XX Whakatane where I worked as a broadcaster at the time.

Meandering Coromandel: Large Oil Painting with Rimu Frame. This is the last painting I have from the 1990's era but it must go to make way for new paintings. This one is double framed. Painted in empasto (heavy) oil it is a real feature painting to be cherished. 1360 x 780mm. AVAILABLE. $2,000
