The Intercultural Translation class allowed me to develop a deeper understanding of the complexity involved in the act of translation within multicultural contexts. Through the analysis of texts, case studies, and theoretical discussions, I came to understand that translation is not merely a linguistic process, but rather a cultural and social act that requires sensitivity, contextual knowledge, and critical awareness. I learned to identify implicit cultural elements that can pose challenges in the translation process, as well as strategies to mediate between cultures in an ethical and responsible way.

From a personal perspective, this academic experience helped me strengthen my intercultural competencies and question my own cultural biases when faced with realities different from my own. Moreover, it motivated me to continue exploring the role of the translator as an intercultural agent, capable of fostering mutual understanding between diverse communities. Without a doubt, this class has been an important step in both my professional and personal development.

La clase de Intercultural Translation me permitió desarrollar una comprensión más profunda sobre la complejidad del acto traductológico en contextos multiculturales. A través del análisis de textos, estudios de caso y discusiones teóricas, entendí que la traducción no es un proceso meramente lingüístico, sino un acto cultural y social que requiere sensibilidad, conocimiento contextual y conciencia crítica. Aprendí a identificar elementos culturales implícitos que pueden representar desafíos en el proceso traductivo, así como estrategias para mediar entre culturas de manera ética y responsable. Desde una perspectiva personal, esta experiencia académica me ayudó a fortalecer mis competencias interculturales y a cuestionar mis propios sesgos culturales al enfrentarme a realidades distintas a la mía. Además, me motivó a seguir profundizando en el rol del traductor como agente intercultural, capaz de fomentar el entendimiento mutuo entre comunidades diversas. Esta clase ha sido, sin duda, un paso importante en mi formación tanto profesional como humana.
