Application of Content

Standard #5 Application of Content – The teacher understand how to connect concepts and use differing perspectives to engage learners in critical thinking, creativity, and collaborative problem solving related to authentic local and global issues.

INTASC #5 Interpretation - As a teacher you need to understand different students learning styles and different students perspectives on learning. This requires the teacher to have creativity in there teaching and lesson plan making. As an educator you must also connect all of the concepts that your students are leaning. By doing this you are growing the knowledge of your students by showing them that everything they learn is a building block. As an educator you also need to have an awareness of the students culture and global issues. These issues can and will effect your students and having knowledge of these will make you a proficient educator. 

Artifact - The first two aftifacts are involved in reading State Data. By reading this data I am better equipt to understand my learners and how to specify my teaching for their learning. This also allows me to know the week subjects area and add those ideals into my theatre arts class. The next artificate is a Text Set for the young adult novel Five, Six, Seven, Nate! The text set shows how students can comprehend the same text and utilize it to learn different ways. These text are also growing on the origional text that the students read and can make comparisons to the main ideas of the novel and the differiantion of texts in the text set.
