Ysharra started the questions, so it's being named after her. Yes, other people can ask questions, too, but let's keep it to one a day at most.
1) Does your Faendryl character hail from New Ta'Faendryl? Do they still have family there, and do they plan on returning? Do you have a visual of their home or neighborhood that you could describe? (~Ysharra)
2) If your character is NOT from New Ta'Faendryl, where are they from? Why did you choose that for your character? And if they are from NTF, why did they leave? (~Ysharra)
3) We all know that as a society, Faendryl are mostly agnostic. However, there are several people here (myself included) who play Faendryl characters who have devoted themselves to one or more of the Arkati. Could you share why (or why not) you have done so? (~Ysharra)
4) One of our best-attended and most enjoyed events this past year were the two performances of the play, "Writ in Crimson Shadow." Can you share any ideas about what Faendryl art, culture or literature would be like, to you? Is your character involved in any of them? If so, how, or is it part of your goals for the future for your characters? (~Ysharra)
5) Can you tell us how your profession is viewed by Faendryl society? It's been said that the Faendryl are a culture of individuals, yet we seem to produce a lot of sorcerers. Do you think that's due to our history, or a more ingrained connection to the Faendryl? Why did you choose it for your characters (sorcerers or anything else)? And you can answer by your class in the game, or by your character's profession if it's something different- a baker, a dancer, and so on. (~Ysharra)
6) If your character(s) were not the class already picked, is there another class they could see themselves as having embraced? (~Eiliriel)
7) If your Faendryl were in a position of power (all the way up to Patriarch, if you like), what would be one (and only one!) change your Faendryl would want to establish? It can be a massive, sweeping change or something as small as "on Wednesdays we wear pink." (~Eiliriel)
8) Since a Solhaven material was released today (1/8/24), I am thinking about what we might choose, if we ever got an opportunity to create and design a Faendryl material. Pick what you like and tell me what it is, what it looks like, feels like, and what it can do- fabric, wood, metal, whatever. I look forward to reading your thoughts! (~Ysharra)
9) So we have talked about politics, professions, materials, philosophy, religion and fashion! Now, tell us about your Faendryl (and Faendryl-adjacent) family! What is the family unit in Faendryl society, in your view? Answer either personally for your characters, or as a sociological question, or both! (~Ysharra)
10) How did you name your Faendryl? How is it pronounced? (~Ysharra)
11) What sort of divertments do you think the Faendryl enjoy? Are there organized sports or competitions? Board games? We have our signature darts version, Killer Darts, can you think of other activities for the sake of fun that we would pursue? (~Ysharra)
12) We all have different interpretations of the Faendryl and half-Faendryl, many of those interpretations are explained in our characters' origins as we've discussed above. Getting as specific as you like, are there any elements to the Faendryl that you feel are nearly "necessary?" Intelligence, a dry wit, stubbornness, and so on. (~Ysharra)
13) Tell me about how you visualize the climate and weather around New Ta'Faendryl and the surrounding environment. Any geological features you think make up the city's panorama? How elevated is it, when you visualize it? And if your character is not from New Ta'Faendryl and never been there, feel free to contribute your visual of their home, instead. (~Ysharra)
14) Is there any animal you associate strongly with your Faendryl? If so, why? It can be a pet, a familiar, a companion, or 'if I were an animal, I would be a...' type association. (~Eiliriel)
15) What is your character's greatest fear? Please pick just one. (~Eiliriel)
16) What does/do your Faendryl character(s) adore? (now that we know all your fears, let's see how closely they match with what you fear losing!) (~Ysharra)
