Lylia says, "And speaking of getting started..."
Lylia surveys the area.
Lylia says, "I suppose it is time."
Lylia chuckles.
Lylia says, "No matter our races or origins, we have a few characteristics in common; one of them is a desire to know our own fate."
Lylia says, "Whether it is with cards or carven bones or the entrails of a sacrifice, we seek knowledge of our futures. The Faendryl are no exception, though we find our visions in the vaporous traces of other realms."
Lylia smiles and pauses for a moment. When she speaks again, her tone is warmly conversational.
Lylia says, "When I was much younger and more indecisive, unable to choose between studies or suitors..."
Lylia glances at Xorus.
Lylia says, "My mother gave me sage advice."
Hycis turns an inquisitive ear toward Lylia.
Lylia confides, "She told me to flip a coin when I could not decide."
Lylia chuckles.
Hycis arches a skeptical eyebrow as she takes in her surroundings.
Lisbethany raises an eyebrow in Lylia's direction.
Lylia says, "This seemed downright insulting to me at the time. Dismissive. 'I could never let the course of my life be determined by something as capricious as a coin flip,' I said."
Hycis grins.
Lylia scoffs.
Hycis adopts an agreeable expression.
Xanthium laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement.
Lylia dryly remarks, "Or shouted, more likely."
Xorus says, "I thought it was 'entertain the possibilities, but keep the hairsticks sharpened.'."
Speaking to Lylia, Xanthium says, "Fate and luck are hard to accept."
Lylia raises her voice in merry laughter.
Ykan grins at Xorus.
Speaking to Xorus, Lylia says, "That too."
Viria ponders.
Ysharra chuckles.
Speaking to Xanthium, Lylia says, "Not that anyone would ever shout at her mother, either."
Speaking to Xorus, you ask, "Was that also about her suitors or more general?"
Lisbethany nods slightly at Xanthium.
Lylia winks.
Lylia continues, "With infinite patience, she told me that the point was not to look at the coin and be guided by finding the Patriarch's face or the Basilica stamped thereupon, but to listen to how I hoped it would fall when it was still tumbling through the air."
Lylia emphatically says, "The lesson seemed simple, but the guiding principle behind it is one I still embrace: We rule our destiny, and any method of divination is a means of understanding that destiny more clearly, not of being controlled by it."
Hycis looks lost in thought.
Hycis turns an inquisitive ear toward Lylia.
Lylia says, "The concept of one's fate being out of one's own hands is anathema to Faendryl sensibilities, yet Igaeshian reading has existed for almost as long as we have had the power to command these entities."
Lylia asks, "How do we resolve this seeming paradox of looking for guidance about a future we cannot see and yet declaring ourselves unconstrained by the very portents we seek?"
Lylia raises an eyebrow.
Lylia says, "It is a question every Igaeshian reader confronts, and each must answer for herself. I believe the readings are similar to my mother's coin, tools for understanding our own desires or fears."
Ysharra nods once.
Lylia continues, "Though there is one major difference." She holds up a finger. "One thing that makes Faendryl divination unique."."
Speaking to you, Xorus says, "They are a suitable weapon in general."
Ysharra says, "They're from Lorae'tyr. Perhaps time means nothing to them. Or something very different."
Ysharra nods once.
(Lylia paces in front of the rippled column of glass standing in courtyard and brushes it with her outstretched hand as she passes.)
Lylia nods at Ysharra.
Telare looks thoughtfully at Lisbethany.
Lylia says, "Just so."
Lylia explains, "Igaesha are not simply objects like coins or cards. They are alive in some sense of the word, and they are not woven of the same matter as our world."
Ykan gazes with interest at Lylia.
Lylia says, "They are a kind of demon, drifting through alien skies in Lorae'tyr, a valence both familiar to the Faendryl and shrouded in mystery."
Lylia says, "We are not entirely sure of their sentience, though they seem to have some. They group and flock, they intermingle and separate."
Lylia says, "One of the most important characteristics of Lorae'tyr is that it does not experience time in a linear fashion as we do. That is, we see time as a single 'now' that moves with us, along with an array of pasts and futures stretching out in ever-widening ripples around that point."
Lylia says, "If we were to picture it, we might envision an hourglass, not unlike an Igaesha vial pinched in the middle. Our sands are all the moments of our lives, and they move in one direction. We can no more recall a lost moment than we can urge sand to run upward through the glass; the past is forever behind us."
Lylia bites her lip.
Lylia says, "For Igaesha, this is presumably not the case. They float outside the hourglass, so to speak, and could theoretically witness all of it at once, if they had a will to do so."
Lylia adds, "And for all we know, they may."
Lylia looks thoughtful for a moment, then shrugs.
Lylia asks, "Any questions so far?"
Lylia surveys the area.
Xanthium says, "If...mine hasn't escaped..."
Lylia says, "Little is known about Igaesha despite extensive study, and that may be another reason they are used in divination. The signs they leave written in smoke and glass require interpretation, which in turn requires skilled readers."
Lylia nods at Xanthium.
Xanthium asks, "Does that mean it doesn't know, or care?"
Lylia answers, "We do not truly know."
Xanthium says, "I don't really...have much experience with divination, much less this, which seems more artful."
Speaking to Xanthium, Faerinn says, "Maybe it likes your company too much."
Speaking to Faerinn, Xanthium says, "Or Lylia's, and who can blame the demon."
Lylia asks, "Whether they 'care' is difficult to ascertain. We cannot even say with certainty that they know, in the way that we know things. What is it to 'know' when your sense of time is no longer linear?"
Lisbethany looks thoughtfully at Lylia.
(Lylia gives an eloquent and wordless shrug.)
Lisbethany wonders, "Do you mean to say they may be base animals?"
Lylia says, "No, they are not animals, I think."
Akenna says, "They must care at least in part, to give you answers."
Hycis thoughtfully says, "Base....beings."
Lylia says, "Some animals are used in divination, often as sacrifices, and I do not know if they 'care' in the sense that we do. But I do believe these are sentient in some fashion."
Lylia says, "Igaesha, by the way, are not apparently harmed by the readings. They are penned for a time, they escape, and then we see them no more."
Lylia cautions, "Again, these readings are signposts, not marching orders. They direct and do not dictate."
Lylia says, "With that said, Igaeshian readers have compiled extensive lists of notable symbols and their significance, based on careful observation, sympathetic magic, and millennia of history."
Xanthium sighs.
Lylia says, "It would be the work of many years to catalogue all of them or even most, but there are a few hundred that recur so often that they are key to understanding and performing an Igaeshian reading."
Lylia says, "Do not fear that I shall go over all of them here; dawn would come at least thrice to us before I could finish."
Lylia flashes a quick grin.
Lylia says, "I like my sleep too much for that."
Lylia offhandedly remarks, "For those who are interested, I have written up brief descriptions of some of the most common symbols. Seek me after the rest of the presentation, and I shall point them out in the library."
Lylia nods to the alabaster spire.
Lylia briskly says, "Now, observe the vial itself."
Lylia removes a glass cylindrical vial encapsulating a light blue brume Igaesha from in her wrap.
Lylia carefully places a glass cylindrical vial encapsulating a light blue brume Igaesha on the ground.
Lylia says, "This is one I placed into its vial not long ago. Some of you watched it happen. I can do it again, if we wish a demonstration."
Lylia traces an arcane sigil in the air, but something goes wrong, causing an explosion of demonic energy.
Lylia admits, "Even the simplest summonings are not without peril."
(Lylia squares her shoulders.)
Ithilwyn bites her lip.
Lylia says, "Thank you for the healing."
Speaking wryly to Lylia, Cruxophim mutters, "I'll do you the favor of not attempting it myself."
Lylia winks at Cruxophim.
Cruxophim chuckles.
Lylia raises her voice in merry laughter.
Lylia says, "Thank you."
Lylia says, "Now, where was I...ah. Yes."
Hycis takes a moment to observe Lylia.
Lylia swiftly runs the tip of her forefinger across a glass cylindrical vial filled with a light blue brume.
Lylia says, "This is an example of Seer Drezda's work, and she is known as one of New Ta'Faendryl's most talented readers, so much so that many of us will use nothing less than the tools she created for herself."
Lylia says, "See the notches that mark its top? These signify the positional arcs that influence the reading. Each arc governs a different aspect of the questioner's life, and therefore a reading takes into account both the symbols and their placement."
Lylia says, "The arcs are, in order, Mind, Body, Family, Rule and Law, Romance, Scholarship, Wealth, Magical Understanding, and Valential Knowledge. There are regional differences in these arcs among readers outside of New Ta'Faendryl, but these broad categories encompass most readers' understanding of the arcs."
Lylia surveys the area.
Lylia says, "Worry not. There is no quiz afterward."
Lylia says, "And even if there were, I would probably not slap your wrists with a ruler for wrong answers."
Lylia darkly intones, "Probably."
Lylia continues, "At any rate, a symbol appearing in a particular arc relates to that arc's influence. A Ring in the fifth arc, that of romance, might mean a wedding. In the eighth, it could mean finding a magical artifact."
Lylia says, "Readings are highly contextual, so it is not only the shape of the symbol but its placement that matters. Its arc is important, but so is its proximity to the center of the vial, which represents the petitioner asking for the reading."
Lylia continues, "To return to our example of the Ring in the fifth arc, if it is accompanied by a peacock's plume in the third, your intended may be from Ta'Illistim. Should these symbols appear close to the center, your prospective partner may already be someone you know; if they are more distant, you might need to broaden your search."
Lylia adds, "The images are open to some interpretation as well. How can a reader know whether a curl of smoke represents the top of a crook, the head of a snake, or the curve of a pillar's volute?"
Lylia explains, "Typically, she notes other aspects of the sign and weaves them into a more complete reading. Rarely, a distinct image appears -- a face, a particular home, a familial crest -- and these direct signs are considered especially potent indicators of fate."
Lylia says, "Notice the slip of paper affixed to the vial. These note the summoner, the reader, and the querent, as well as the focus of the reading and any additional notes. After a reading, you may also inscribe the text of your findings on the vellum for the petitioner."
Lylia says, "In this case, no reading has been done yet."
Lylia says, "At least, not with this vial."
Lylia picks up a glass cylindrical vial filled with a light blue brume.
Lylia turns around.
Lylia surveys the area.
Lylia raises her cylindrical vial and intones a quiet phrase before pointing it at Xorus. Nothing happens.
Lylia takes a moment to observe her cylindrical vial.
Lylia put a glass cylindrical vial filled with a light blue brume in her wrap.
Lylia says, "I took the liberty of doing a reading for myself the other evening."
Speaking to Xorus, Ysharra asks, "Are you not concentrating?"
Xorus says, "Intensely."
Lylia confesses, "No, that was entirely my fault."
Lylia sighs.
Lylia says, "When I dropped a jar earlier, I believe I swapped two of them."
Lylia says, "Decorative elements such as beads or notches can also adorn your vial. Wax used within the vial will preserve the vapors within for a longer span. Drezda offers a full range of such accessories when she visits, and I highly recommend exploring all of these options."
Lylia says, "For my own readings, I typically use a more basic vial."
Lylia says, "Nor do I maintain the images with wax, though I could if I chose."
Lylia removes a glass cylindrical vial filled with a light blue brume from in her wrap.
Lylia gazes with clearly focused intent into her cylindrical vial, which houses a smoky haze.
Lylia takes a moment to observe her cylindrical vial.
Lylia says, "I shall pass this around, if you like, and you can gaze into it and observe what you see."
Lylia says, "I see needles at the center of it, and two rings just below."
Lylia says, "My interpretation here is rather..."
Lylia clears her throat.
Lylia chuckles.
Ravinder begins chuckling at Lylia!
Ravinder shakes his head, clucking his tongue.
Lylia says, "Needles are a sign of envy, the way needles prick at the nerves but do little damage."
Ysharra nods once.
Lylia explains, "And two rings, at the center -- recalling that the center of the vial represents the petitioner -- and based on the direction of the needles, it would seem that at least one person is stung with envy at my good fortune with husbands."
(Lylia opens her mouth as if about to say something more, then seems to change her mind and closes it again.)
Lylia briskly asks, "Any questions?"
Lylia applauds.
Viria grins.
Xanthium grins at Lylia.
Cruxophim grins.
Hycis shakes her head.
Xorus says, "Fortune favors the bold."
Cruxophim shakes his head.
Speaking to Lylia, Xanthium says, "You do have that. I've only seen one of them, but..."
Viria begins chuckling at Xorus!
Speaking to Alosaka, Lylia asks, "Yes?"
Alosaka asks, "Does petitioning these demons for knowledge cost the supplicant anything?"
Speaking amicably to Xorus, Cruxophim says, "And favors embolden the fortunate."
Lylia says, "Not that I have ever seen, no. Aside from the silvers paid to the reader, which can be considerable if she is a skilled one. I cannot lie; I have been at it for only a decade and am therefore quite the novice."
Speaking to Cruxophim, Ysharra says, "I like how that turned out, that phrase."
Alosaka says, "Very charitable of the demons."
Lylia says, "As we saw, any demon summoning can go awry, even with those who are familiar with it. So the cost is not paid for summoning, precisely, but...there is always a risk."
Speaking to Alosaka, Xanthium asks, "You know that demon just means a creature from a different valence, yes?"
Viria nods at Lylia.
Lylia says, "The reader takes on that risk, not the querent."
Lylia put a glass cylindrical vial filled with a light blue brume in her wrap.
Speaking to Alosaka, Xanthium says, "I know some of them are mean customers, like the oculoths."
Speaking to Lylia, Faerinn asks, "Many cultures have their own version of scrying tailored to their own cultural moirees. Would you agree that this might be the Faendryl version of it?"
Speaking to Alosaka, Xanthium says, "But not all of them are malevolent. Much like how we aren't all one thing or another."
Speaking to Xanthium, Alosaka says, "Perhaps the cost, then, is the closure of future paths that you might have taken, had not new knowledge foreclosed them to you."
Speaking to Faerinn, Lylia says, "Absolutely. I believe every culture uses what it has at hand to see what would otherwise remain unseen. We all seek to know secrets."
Lylia removes a glass niello-caged vial from in her survival kit.
Speaking to Alosaka, Jaysehn says, "This is wise."
Lylia says, "Now, as I was about to demonstrate earlier, and as I did not quite manage to do, although I did showcase one of the potential pitfalls of summoning..."
Alosaka says, "I wonder if the person you might have been is lost, and what of them is lost, and what of them is consumed."
Speaking to Alosaka, Lisbethany says, "But paths not chosen abound every day, poppet."
Speaking to Alosaka, Ysharra says, "Perhaps they linger, like pictures of a puzzle that remain behind. Someone who finds it might wonder..."
Speaking to Xorus, Lylia asks, "You will, of course, assist me in this?"
Speaking to Alosaka, Ysharra asks, "If the bit of blue is a flower petal, or a wave crest?"
Lylia grins at Xorus.
Faerinn says, "The Talador version is finding a still pool in a crik at midnight to gaze in for answers."
Lylia says, "Forgive me if that sounded like a question."
Speaking to Xorus, Xanthium says, "You are blessed and conscripted."
Xorus nods at Lylia.
Lylia raises her voice in merry laughter.
Akenna says, "Maybe some do not want to see their fates and that is alright."
Lylia says, "Thank you, darling."
Alosaka says, "Could it be that the past is littered with fragments of the most prolific readers? The pieces of what they might have become, strewn like rubble behind them."
Viria grins.
Shadows dance between Lylia's outstretched fingers as she issues a command in archaic Faendryl.
Faerinn says, "The Loenthra version is polishing a thumbnail with oil to into it."
Lylia closes her eyes for a moment.
Faerinn says, "Both might have a beseeching for spirits, but the Faendryl method seems unique in having a dedicated one."
Speaking to Faerinn, Alosaka asks, "Do any others rely on demons?"
(Lylia gives the vial a cursory look before casting. Shadows dance between her outstretched fingers as she issues a command in archaic Faendryl.)
Faerinn says, "Depends on who answers the call really."
Lisbethany lightly teases, "Who can say? Demons go where they wish."
Faerinn says, "First come first serve."
Lisbethany says, "Perhaps they inhabit every crik and thumbnail."
Speaking to Lylia, Faerinn asks, "Or is my reading on this style of reading off?"
Lylia mutters something about Igaesha.
Ysharra laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement.
Faerinn says, "I think Erithian cultures do believe there is a spirit in every crik and thumbnail."
Ekrah billows and flows free from the niello-caged vial's confines.
Ekrah pulses vividly before slowly floating away from Lylia.
Lylia gasps.
Ekrah tonelessly says, "I am free."
(Lylia raises her voice to a shout and makes a sweeping gesture at the vial, then at the seething mist near it.)
Thrassus raises an eyebrow.
Xanthium blinks at Ekrah.
You see Ekrah the Virulent.
She appears to be an igaesha from Lorae'tyr.
She is wispy and hazy. She appears to be mature. She has misty cyan eyes and swirling turquoise skin. She has tendrils of waving, cerulean hair billowing about her frame. She has an indistinct face and an orbs of faint green pulsing beneath the surface of her mist-like skin.
She is in good shape.
She is wearing nothing special at this time.
Alanisse leans back.
Akenna raises an eyebrow.
You examine Ekrah closely, sizing her up and taking note of all the details.
Lylia stares unwaveringly at Ekrah.
Lisbethany holds her breath.
Speaking to Ekrah, Ysharra says, "...hello."
Faerinn says, "Um."
Melikor looks thoughtfully at Ekrah.
Ekrah ebbs and flows in place, expanding and contracting before shifting into a vaguely humanoid shape.
Ekrah turns her expression towards Lylia and exhales a soft phrase, "I am compelled."
Hycis takes a moment to observe Ekrah.
Lifting first one foot and then another, Akenna slowly backpedals.
Lylia raises her hand.
Speaking to Ekrah, Ysharra asks, "Want some iced tea?"
Raelee takes a moment to observe Ekrah.
Faerinn asks, "Is this usual?"
Thrassus looks over at Faerinn and shakes his head.
Alanisse slowly says, "No."
Lylia smoothly says, "Just as I had planned it. Of course."
Speaking quietly to Lylia, Raelee remarks, "Remarkable."
Xanthium says, "I wouldn't know."
Lylia surveys the area.
Cruxophim grins at Ekrah.
(Lisbethany gazes raptly at Ekrah.)
Alosaka leans back.
Speaking to Lylia, Faerinn whispers aloud, "Are you stealing pages from Nehor's book now?"
Xanthium strides over to stand before Ekrah.
Viria winces.
Alanisse takes a moment to observe Ekrah.
Speaking quietly to himself, Thrassus says, "Seems docile enough."
(Akenna edges behind Jaysehn.)
Thrassus leans on his staff.
Cruxophim begins to flirt with Ekrah.
(Lylia eyes Ekrah warily, then runs her gloved hand over her vial.)
Faerinn waves to Ekrah.
Jaysehn glances at Akenna.
Speaking to Ekrah, Ykan says, "Greetings."
Ykan bows to Ekrah.
Lylia says, "Well. We shall not need this."
Ravinder arches a skeptical eyebrow as he takes in his surroundings.
Cruxophim acknowledges Ekrah with pernicious congeniality.
Jaysehn nods at Akenna.
Speaking in Faendryl, Lylia commands, "You understand this tongue. Show me that you do."
(Xanthium raises her hands and hums a little under her throat, and directs the soft tones at Ekrah, studying the creature carefully.)
Raelee levels her gaze at Ekrah, staring intently at her without blinking her eyes.
Cruxophim reaches up and covers his black-lensed goggles over his eyes.
Cruxophim winks at Ekrah.
Speaking to Thrassus, Xanthium says, "Your definition of docile might vary from others."
Lisbethany softly wonders, "Compelled to what..."
Lylia says, "An Igaesha that is unconstrained is not able to leave traces of itself in glass and mist..."
Ravinder quietly marvels, "How curious. I have never seen one take a form so distinct."
Viria folds her arms over her chest.
Xorus raises an eyebrow.
Alosaka says, "You said they were unintelligent."
Hycis nods slowly at Lylia.
Lylia explains, "This is not something to be put in a vial, clearly..."
Alosaka says, "It spoke to us."
Lylia says, "I said they were of an intelligence we did not understand."
Xanthium nods at Alosaka.
Lylia says, "And that normally gives little sign that it understands us."
Speaking to Alosaka, Faerinn corrects, "She."
Ykan agrees with Lylia.
Speaking to Xanthium, Lisbethany murmurs, "Not a base animal it seems after all."
Speaking lightly in Dwarven to Ekrah, Cruxophim suggests something you don't understand.
Glancing at Ekrah, Cruxophim flicks his blood red-veined deep black wings in a downward motion and tightens them stiffly against his back.
Lylia says, "Indeed. I was right to say so. Not a base animal at all."
Speaking to Lisbethany, Xanthium says, "But it might tell us a story."
Viria asks, "Or our fates?"
Ekrah pulses and ebbs quietly.
Lisbethany nods slowly at Xanthium.
Speaking to Ekrah, Lylia asks, "Do you understand me still?"
Ekrah nods at Lylia.
Lylia says, "We know they respond to Faendryl and Dark Elven tongues; I usually speak to them in these. Not in the Common vernacular."
Lylia murmurs, "Fascinating that it has taken an almost corporeal form."
Alosaka asks, "Have they ever spoken back?"
Lylia corrects, "She."
Lylia says, "Not to me, though there are notes that -- well. I can look those up later, and I shall."
Lylia walks toward Ekrah.
Xorus says, "I have never seen.. this... happen."
Thrassus nods at Xorus.
Speaking to Alosaka, Xanthium says, "There are many who have studied the Igaesha over the year. They are most compelled by female Faendryl."
Hycis closes her eyes for a moment.
Ekrah gazes with interest at Lylia.
Viria says, "Lylia's modesty apparently matches her skill."
(Lylia waves her hand near the vaporous entity.)
Xanthium smiles at Viria.
Lylia bites her lip.
Ekrah swirls about Lylia's hand.
Berkana grins.
Viria says, "She seems quite compelled."
Ykan gazes with interest at Lylia.
Speaking to Lylia, Lisbethany urges, "Inquire about what compels her."
Lylia says, "She is compelled by the summoner, as all minor demons are."
(Raelee glances back and forth between Lylia and the igaesha with rapt attention.)
Ravinder says, "Perhaps the form this one takes is.. mimicry of a sort? How interesting."
Lylia admits, "Though compelling her to do what, I know not. How do you ask questions of something that does not perceive time as you do?"
Speaking to Lylia, Thrassus asks, "Will she answer your questions in a more direct way now, do you think?"
Lylia says, "We can hope."
Xorus says, "Travelling to Lorae'tyr itself to study it has been forbidden for many thousands of years. Though with the nature of that place, it is hard to say what might have changed."
Cruxophim stares into space, appearing to ponder multiple possibilities and potential nuances.
Lisbethany lightly says, "Ask her what time it is."
Lylia breathes, "A way around Shieltine's Ward..."
Thrassus begins chuckling at Lisbethany!
Speaking to Lylia, Ekrah says, "With intent. With inquiry. With understanding."
Lylia fans herself.
Lisbethany grins impishly.
Hycis shifts her eyes to Ekrah.
Lylia nods slowly at Ekrah.
Speaking to Ekrah, Ysharra says, "You learn quickly."
Berkana begins chuckling at Lisbethany!
Thrassus says, "Oh, by the by, I wouldn't speak too much about this outside of those gathered."
Ykan adopts an agreeable expression.
Viria says, "This is no unintelligent spirit."
Dwi grunts.
Lylia asks, "Do you feel this realm differently than your own?"
Hycis takes a moment to observe Ekrah.
Speaking to Ysharra, Raelee asks, "Is it quickly? Or simply an advantage of a different perception of time?"
Ekrah agrees, "Alone."
Speaking heartily to Cruxophim, Dwi asks, "Where's da demon?"
Speaking to Ekrah, Xanthium asks, "Are you aware of the passage of time?"
Dwi leans on Cruxophim.
Medicius points at Ekrah.
Yardie peers quizzically at Ekrah.
Cruxophim leans on Dwi.
Dwi squints at Ekrah.
Dwi grunts and nods.
Lylia asks, "Can you touch what we touch?"
Yardie says, "Quite frightening."
Speaking to Raelee, Ysharra says, "An interesting question, and perception."
Speaking softly in Dwarven to Dwi, Cruxophim whispers aloud something you don't understand.
Cruxophim points at Ekrah.
Dwi smirks.
Speaking to Lylia, Ekrah says, "If required. Though not all."
Speaking in Dwarven, Dwi heartily says something you don't understand.
Speaking to Ysharra, Raelee says, "If the past, present, and future are all available to you... the learning process would likely be vastly different."
Lylia nods slowly.
Berkana blinks at Cruxophim.
Lylia agrees with Raelee.
Dwi shows Ekrah her vaalorn greatshield.
Raelee adds, "... and perhaps not strictly a 'process' at all."
Speaking to Raelee, Ysharra asks, "Do you learn at all? Or are you just aware?"
Speaking to Ysharra, Raelee says, "The root question."
Lylia removes some mithril chains from in her wrap.
Xanthium ponders.
Speaking quietly to Cruxophim, Dwi says, "It prolley kint read."
Lylia murmurs, "Mithril is often confounding to spells. I wonder how it -- ah, or she -- might react if we were to..."
Lylia offers Ekrah some mithril chains.
Speaking to Dwi, Yardie says, "I...wouldn't provoke it."
Cruxophim begins chuckling at Dwi!
Lisbethany gazes with interest at Ekrah.
Ekrah reaches out towards Lylia to accept the offering as the color of her hands darkens significantly.
Ekrah accepts Lylia's mithril chains.
Speaking to Lylia, Ysharra says, "...interesting."
Alosaka says, "Question."
Berkana softly says, "I wouldn't provoke Lylia."
Alosaka asks, "Why were you carrying chains with you?"
Berkana smirks.
Lisbethany asks, "Can it take other forms as others of its ilk can do?">
Speaking to Raelee, Ysharra asks, "Could you take risks? Could you even be said to make choices at all?"
Speaking to Alosaka, Thrassus says, "Reasons."
Ekrah glances at some graduated silver chains in her hand.
(Lylia walks a slow circle around Ekrah, her hands held steady and poised to cast.)
Speaking to Ysharra, Raelee says, "Also valid questions that I can only begin to theorize on. 'Choice' may ultimately be a very linear concept."
Lylia explains, "This is something novel, at least to me."
Hycis nods slowly at Lylia.
Ekrah offers Lylia some graduated silver chains.
Lylia says, "It may have had something to do with the vial I dropped..."
Lylia accepts Ekrah's silver chains.
Speaking to Lylia, Ysharra asks, "But is anything novel to this creature?"
Lylia asks, "How can there be novelty when there is no sense of time, I wonder?"
Speaking softly in Faendryl to Lylia, Hycis says, "I find her...amazing."
Lylia turns over her silver chains.
Ekrah swirls about Hycis's body, pulsing in pleasing colors of teal and aquamarine.
Lylia says, "From mithril to silver."
Viria says, "Amazing."
Lylia bites her lip.
Hycis bows to Ekrah.
Thrassus raises an eyebrow.
Speaking to Raelee, Ysharra asks, "Will talking to us, experience linear progression through us...change what it is?"
Speaking in Faendryl, Entwil darkly asks, "How did she do that?"
Cruxophim chuckles.
Akenna says, "Clearly it has some care, maybe to study you as you study it."
Faerinn says, "Certainly nothing like this ever manifested at the crick."
Viria says, "She seems intent to fulfill some purpose."
Ravinder says, "It--she--is fascinating."
Cruxophim takes a drink from his bone teacup.
Speaking in Faendryl, Lylia says, "I do not know, and hope to find out."
Hycis nods at Lylia.
Faerinn says, "Without the aid of mushrooms anyway."
Yardie gibbers incoherently.
Speaking thoughtfully to Ekrah, Cruxophim wonders, "Do you bleed?"
Speaking to Faerinn, Xanthium says, "Or nightshade."
Dwi heartily says, "It's all facinatin...til it eats yer face."
Speaking to Cruxophim, Thrassus says, "Not for eating."
Speaking to Ysharra, Raelee says, "Which leads to the question of does she experience linear progression through us? Can she cross that barrier or is she restricted as we are? We do not truly experience the non-linear through exposure."
Faerinn nods at Xanthium.
Speaking gently to Thrassus, Cruxophim agrees, "I've enough demons in me."
Yardie says, "I think we all have our demons."
Speaking to Cruxophim, Ekrah says, "No. Not like you flesh beings."
Lylia leans over and whispers, "You should give it -- err, her -- something to see if she is able to transmogrify it."
Speaking to Raelee, Ysharra says, "Perhaps her existence is imperceptible to us, save for her manifestation within our reality, as she is now."
Speaking to Ekrah, Faerinn says, "Is it ichor? The stories always say its ichor."
You nod at Lylia.
Ravinder idly notes, "I favor aishans."
You remove a porcelain mask embellished with a large jet-on-silver crystal design from in your black linen purse.
Hycis smiles at Ekrah.
You ponder the meaning of Ekrah's existence.
Dwi mutters something about ick.
Speaking to Ysharra, Ekrah says, "Astute. Correct and incorrect."
Speaking teasingly to Faerinn, Cruxophim scolds, "That's very rude, to ask about one's ichor."
Lylia nods in agreement to you.
Speaking to Raelee, Ysharra says, "It's like we're all pieces of paper, and she's turned the same way the rest of us are, right now."
Ekrah reaches out towards you to accept the offering as the color of her hands darkens significantly.
Ekrah has accepted your offer and is now holding a porcelain mask embellished with a large jet-on-silver crystal design.
Ysharra looks thoughtfully at Ekrah.
Jaysehn nods at Akenna.
Lylia gazes with interest at Ysharra.
Lylia nods in agreement.
Hycis removes a simple blued steel wristchain from in her despanal-hued coat.
Speaking to Ysharra, Raelee says, "Curious metaphor, yes."
Akenna folds her hands behind her back.
Ekrah gazes with interest at you.
Lylia says, "And an elegant one."
You gaze with interest at Ekrah.
Xanthium says, "For one brief convergence, we can see her, and she can see us. Through Lylia's summoning spell."
Lylia says, "A crack in the vial could not be enough to explain this."
Thrassus ponders.
Alosaka frowns.
With a wince, Lylia slowly massages her temple.
Dwi heartily says, "Da stuff ye elfs play wit cracks me up."
Dwi chuckles.
Speaking to Raelee, Ysharra says, "If one of the fish in the pond yonder..."
Lisbethany looks at Lylia with concern.
Lylia says, "I wonder if the thing that cracked was my head, earlier, when I attempted the summoning."
Speaking to Lylia, Thrassus asks, "A convergence of valences, perhaps?"
Speaking surreptitiously to Ekrah, Cruxophim wonders, "Do I seem a piece of paper to you?"
(Lylia shakes her head as if to clear it.)
Viria frowns at Lylia.
Speaking to Raelee, Ysharra asks, "Sees us without the water, would it wonder what we are?"
Cruxophim gazes into Ekrah's eyes.
Cruxophim's brow furrows suddenly and swirling black ebon lines invade his eyes, turning them into flat ebon orbs. Cruxophim looks around, scanning the area before his eyes suddenly return to normal.
Dwi blinks.
Lylia says, "It could have been. I was preparing for this talk last night."
Speaking to Ysharra, Raelee says, "I would."
You accept Ekrah's offer and are now holding a plum silk mask crested with sprigs of night-blooming jasmine.
Lylia says, "Late into the night, and with various summonings. And I did travel earlier, too."
Alosaka says, "She... seems peaceful enough."
Cruxophim begins chuckling at Ysharra!
Speaking to Ekrah, you say, "It is surprisingly beautiful."
Lylia nods at Alosaka.
Lisbethany gazes with interest at you.
Hycis smiles at Ekrah.
Ekrah swirls about your body, pulsing in pleasing colors of teal and aquamarine.
Ekrah accepts Hycis's blued steel wristchain.
Ekrah nods at Hycis.
Raelee takes a moment to observe Ekrah.
Alosaka says, "I worry though, that if one demon can spontaneously appear, anothe rmight as well."
Lisbethany gazes in amusement at Alosaka.
Cruxophim extends his hand, palm open, in front of Alosaka's face with a dismissive snort.
Speaking to Alosaka, Ekrah says, "Yes."
Speaking to Raelee, Ysharra asks, "If I reached in and grabbed one, and took him out of his realm for a moment, and then released him to return, what would he tell his fellow fish?"
Lylia says, "It was hardly spontaneous. She was summoned, just...not quite as I imagined it would."
Cruxophim grins at Alosaka.
Dwi surveys the area.
Cruxophim winks at Alosaka.
Speaking to Raelee, Ysharra asks, "Would they create a theory?"
Speaking to Raelee, Ysharra asks, "Try to attract our attention again?"
Speaking to Ekrah, Akenna asks, "Are more coming or is it just you who is curious?"
Speaking to Raelee, Ysharra asks, "...craft rituals?"
Dwi grunts in obvious annoyance.
Speaking to Ysharra, Faerinn says, "That fish would create a whole religious movement to the other fish."
Ysharra asks, "...guilds?"
Speaking to Ysharra, Raelee asks, "We are the fish in this metaphor, yes?"
Speaking to Raelee, Ysharra says, "Yes."
Speaking to Ysharra, Raelee says, "Then yes."
Hycis accepts Ekrah's pentagram.
Hycis bows to Ekrah.
Speaking to Faerinn, Ysharra says, "Or scientists. Natural philosophers."
Randosa just came through an ornate gate.
Randosa just went through a large ornate door.
(Berkana bounces her head back and forth between the two conversations.)
Speaking to Faerinn, Ysharra says, "Depending what else these fish have going on to explain things."
Dwi grunts at Ysharra.
Lisbethany looks thoughtfully at Ekrah.
Hycis attaches a pentagram suspended on a silver wrist chain to her wrist.
Speaking to Ysharra, Faerinn says, "Sure, but probably a cult."
Speaking heartily to Ysharra, Dwi asks, "Pillossifer? Like Bbee?"
Dwi grunts in annoyance, rolling her eyes.
Lisbethany wonders, "Is she moving these things along their timelines?"
Speaking to Ekrah, Raelee asks, "You were aware this would occur?"
Ekrah nods at Raelee.
Speaking to Lisbethany, Alosaka says, "That's what I assume."
Ekrah swirls about Xorus's body, pulsing in pleasing colors of teal and aquamarine.
Ekrah floats towards Xorus, pulsing and swirling about his body.
Speaking to Xorus, Ekrah asks, "What is your desire?"
Speaking to Dwi, Ysharra says, "I don't know what Bbee is like, outside of the pills."
Hycis grins at Ykan.
Speaking to herself, Berkana says, "Perhaps another drink."
Dwi grunts in agreement.
Yardie asks, "Those swirls...what do they mean?"
Viria begins chuckling at Berkana!
Xorus raises an eyebrow.
Alosaka says, "Hopefully she won't move any of us along our timelines."
Xanthium chuckles.
Viria nods.
Speaking to Berkana, Akenna says, "I...agree with you on that."
Lisbethany grabs a dark burgundy nosegay of hellebores from a small pocket inside of her mocha wool duster.
Xorus says, "Knowledge of the future."
Xanthium smiles at Akenna.
Speaking to Alosaka, Ekrah says, "You do that yourselves."
Raelee nods faintly at Xorus.
Alosaka reluctantly says, "...true."
Faerinn says, "One minute at a time."
Thrassus snickers.
Lylia says, "Knowledge of Lorae'tyr would be invaluable too."
Lylia narrows her eyes.
Speaking to Lisbethany, Berkana says, "What a lovely bunch of flowers."
Speaking to Ekrah, Xanthium asks, "Is your home anything like this?"
Speaking pleasedly to Berkana, Lisbethany murmurs, "My ruby gifted them to me."
Speaking to Xorus, Ekrah says, "It will come... in time."
Yardie says, "Looking at it, there doesn't seem much to fear...and yet, there is."
Speaking to Xanthium, Ekrah says, "No."
Speaking to Ekrah, Raelee asks, "Is making the inquiry... to ask what he desires for his own benefit? To allow the interaction to move forward as it should?"
Xanthium nods at Ekrah.
Speaking to Yardie, Lylia says, "Considering that every summoning is a potential brush with death or possession, yes."
Speaking to Lylia, Yardie says, "Possession."
Yardie shivers.
Dwi gives Yardie a little prod between the shoulder blades.
Speaking heartily to Yardie, Dwi says, "Ye ferst."
Speaking to Jaysehn, Akenna whispers aloud, "That is what demons do, after all."
Speaking to Dwi, Yardie says, "I'm afraid I don't have much to possess."
Ykan bows to Ekrah.
Speaking darkly in Faendryl to Ekrah, Entwil asks, "What does your kind think of being summoned here?"
Dwi chuckles.
Dwi gives Yardie a little prod between the shoulder blades.
Speaking heartily to Yardie, Dwi says, "C;mon..try it."
Dwi winks.
Lylia says, "It is one of the reasons Palestra guard summoners. Also so they may put down those who are beyond help. Although that brings up its own hard questions..."
Speaking to Raelee, Ekrah says, "Understanding is inadequate."
Cruxophim just came through an ornate gate.
Cruxophim sticks his finger into his black apple. When he retracts the finger, it is covered in rotting flesh. He licks the mess off his finger, smacking his lips.
Ykan adopts an agreeable expression.
Lylia asks, "Who decides who is 'beyond help' in such cases?"
Alosaka asks, "Do you think that's her... actual form?"
Ykan removes a black leather cloak shoulder-pinned with a gem-inset dragon clasp from his shoulders.
Berkana begins chuckling at Cruxophim!
Speaking to Ekrah, Raelee says, "That... I know."
Cruxophim offers Ekrah a glistening black apple.
Berkana shakes her head.
Speaking to Dwi, Yardie says, "I pride myself in my survival instincts. This would be one of them. It's too familiar."
Ekrah reaches towards Cruxophim as the surface of her hand begins to bubble and sizzle.
Ekrah accepts Cruxophim's black apple.
Berkana gently reaches into her kaolin amphora and withdraws a lance-headed pale green pit viper, which slowly curls around her hand.
Berkana shows Cruxophim her pale green pit viper.
Speaking gently in Elven to Ekrah, Cruxophim admits, "I don't know if it's to your tastes."
Speaking darkly to Lylia, Entwil asks, "Would that not be those who trained the Palestra?"
Berkana put a lance-headed pale green pit viper in her kaolin amphora.
Cruxophim begins chuckling at Berkana!
Speaking to Cruxophim, Lisbethany murmurs, "I do not know that she likes that one."
Ekrah says, "Tasteless as is all."
Ekrah drifts slowly towards Faerinn, dispersing and flowing into Faerinn's nostrils before slowly leaking out of his ears. She quickly regains her form and glances at Faerinn expectantly.
Speaking to Faerinn, Ekrah asks, "How might I serve?"
Xorus offers Ekrah a stargazer lily.
Ekrah accepts Xorus's stargazer lily.
Lylia says, "Ultimately, but I have no doubt that some cases of 'possession' had more to do with political inviability than anything else."
Lylia gazes with interest at Xorus.
Speaking softly to Lisbethany, Cruxophim agrees, "Tis a different valance."
Cruxophim looks thoughtful for a moment, then shrugs.
Speaking wistfully to herself, Berkana says, "If only demons were like genies..."
Lylia says, "Potentially. Or they can bring knowledge, depending on the nature of the Igaeshian reader and the reading she uncovers."
Lylia confesses, "That is, if she does not summon something unknown."
Viria smiles darkly.
Speaking to Lylia, Yardie says, "Knowledge? Hmmm."
Viria says, "I guess we will find out."
Akenna raises an eyebrow in Lylia's direction.
Speaking to Lylia, Raelee says, "... and the knowledge brought forth tonight is..."
Speaking to Lylia, Raelee says, "... this is a remarkable opportunity."
Speaking to Cruxophim, Lisbethany says, "Perhaps ... Fred... will be more to her liking."
Speaking to Raelee, Ysharra says, "Very much so."
Alosaka asks, "No one else gets a certain sense of... menace, from our guest?"
Speaking to Ekrah, Lylia asks, "Are others like you?"
Speaking to Lylia, Yardie says, "I was about to ask the same question."
Speaking to Lylia, Ekrah says, "All."
Lylia says, "Not as long as I maintain control, no. I would warn you if it slipped."
Speaking to Alosaka, Faerinn asks, "Not really? Are you?"
Ekrah says, "More. And less."
Dwi points at a horned basalt bust.
Dwi heartily says, "Dat's perty scarey."
Alosaka slowly says, "I don't feel she is particularly safe to be around."
Dwi points at Ekrah.
Speaking to Lylia, Yardie asks, "How long must one study in order to maintain control? I presume some...would venture ill-prepared?"
Dwi heartily says, "Dat's kinda fuzzy."
Xorus accepts Ekrah's yellow-throated crocus.
Lylia dryly remarks, "There are quite a few here who are not safe to be around."
Akenna murmurs, "Isn't that the truth."
Melikor says, "Pardon me."
Melikor smiles.
Melikor inclines his head.
Speaking to Alosaka, Xanthium says, "She hasn't been hostile so far."
Ekrah glances inquiringly at Faerinn.
Viria says, "Not hostile... menacing."
Alosaka says, "An avalanche is not hostile either."
Yardie says, "I believe the proper word would be: imposing."
Lylia nods slowly.
Raelee quietly says, "... the greatest opportunities to learn are often 'unsafe'."
Speaking in Faendryl, Hycis calmly says, "I do not feel menace from this being, strength, yes. Not menace."
Raelee quietly adds, "... but it is undoubtedly worth it."
Lylia says, "As we discovered last night."
Lylia nods at Raelee.
Berkana agrees with Hycis.
Ekrah says, "I am not inclined to attack. If you have such a tendency, my inclination will change. It will not be pleasant."
Alosaka says, "Fair enough then."
Speaking flatly to Lylia, Raelee agrees, "Yes."
Speaking to Ekrah, Thrassus says, "I am certain of that, yes."
Speaking in Faendryl, Lylia says, "All demons have a sense of power about them. It is intoxicating."
Ekrah drifts about the area with aimless intent before turning and facing Raelee. The igaesha's eyes momentarily fixate on Raelee's face before turning more transluscent.
Speaking to Raelee, Ekrah says, "I am bound to serve. Express your desires."
Speaking to Ekrah, Yardie says, "I don't think any of us are here to attack. Merely, to understand."
Ekrah accepts Raelee's skull-crested tome.
Speaking to Ekrah, Raelee says, "That is perhaps our least linear means of passing knowledge."
Speaking to Lisbethany, Akenna says, "It seems she's focused on the Magister's desires at the moment."
Ekrah engulfs the skull-crested tome, before resuming her previous form once more.
Speaking to Lisbethany, Ekrah says, "Many can be granted. Not all will be understood or perceived."
Speaking to Lylia, Yardie asks, "The question is, who has more knowledge to offer?"
Speaking to Ekrah, Raelee says, "A means to pass knowledge through time."
Lylia says, "Look hard enough, and everything reveals more of itself to careful examination."
Speaking to Ekrah, Raelee says, "Though still quite linear. I would be... intrigued to see what may become of it in the hands of one with your means of perception."
Ekrah offers Raelee a niello-spined leather tome bound with strands of ivory lace.
Alosaka says, "What is it the Nalfein say? 'Everything surrenders to sufficient interrogation?'."
Speaking to Alosaka, Lylia says, "Not only the Nalfein, but yes."
Lylia smiles quietly to herself.
Speaking to Ekrah, Raelee says, "Fascinating."
Akenna says, "It is a fond saying."
Speaking to Ykan, Ekrah asks, "What is your desire?"
Speaking to Ekrah, Raelee says, "... this, I study."
Speaking to Ekrah, Lylia asks, "Do you feel the passage of time as you are here?"
Speaking to Ekrah, Ykan asks, "Will you stay with me?"
Speaking to Lylia, Ekrah says, "Like a subtle breeze."
Ykan winks at Ekrah.
Speaking to Ykan, Ekrah says, "No."
Ykan sighs.
Speaking to Ysharra, Xanthium says, "I'll return, Mother."
Speaking to Ekrah, Yardie asks, "I must ask, if you all would allow, how long are you permitted to stay?"
Speaking to Ekrah, Thrassus asks, "I assume you are able to percieve or travel between all possible timelines?"
Speaking to Yardie, Lylia says, "Without an Igaeshian vial surrounding the crea -- ah, her -- probably the space of an hour or two. It is how long I am usually able to summon a demon."
Speaking to Thrassus, Ekrah says, "No."
Thrassus raises an eyebrow.
Thrassus says, "Interesting."
Speaking to Thrassus, Ekrah says, "It is difficult to explain to one who can not comprehend."
Ekrah drifts about the area with aimless intent before turning and facing Viria. The igaesha's eyes momentarily fixate on Viria's face before turning more transluscent.
Speaking to Viria, Ekrah says, "I am bound to serve. Express your desires."
Speaking to Ekrah, Yardie says, "More difficult to explain to those who willingly choose not to comprehend. It's quite paradoxical, but understood."
Speaking to Ekrah, Raelee says, "If we immediately understand all that we are taught, that implies we did not need to be taught in the first place."
Viria asks, "Can you offer me clarity into the past?"
Speaking to Ekrah, Raelee says, "I would far rather hear what I cannot comprehend than nothing at all."
Thrassus says, "I'll have to redouble experiments to learn, then."
Speaking to Raelee, Akenna says, "Perhaps she means it is out of our scope as we cannot perceive like she can. She would be right in that."
Speaking to Viria, Ekrah says, "Yes. Dwell not. It is unchangeable. It affected you. You chose how to react. That is all."
Speaking to Raelee, Akenna says, "Of course, I know."
Yardie asks, "One thing I must ask. There's no specific location where any one of them could be summoned, no?"
Lylia looks over at Yardie and shakes her head.
Speaking to Lylia, Alosaka asks, "So, what's the worst demon-related event you've experienced?"
Ekrah drifts slowly towards Akenna, dispersing and flowing into Akenna's nostrils before slowly leaking out of her ears. She quickly regains her form and glances at Akenna expectantly.
Speaking to Akenna, Ekrah asks, "How might I serve?"
Lylia says, "There are some places in which demon-summoning is still illegal, and there are some sanctuaries into which a demon will not enter."
Speaking to Alosaka, Yardie says, "That's....not a safe question to ask and think about."
Speaking to Ekrah, Akenna inquires, "Will I return?"
Speaking to Akenna, Ekrah says, "In time."
Speaking to Akenna, Ysharra says, "Lylia, Xorus, and Faerinn are still here."
Ysharra grins at Akenna.
Yardie asks, "So there's no stopping one from summoning a demon to...wreck havoc if they choose to?"
Speaking to Alosaka, Lylia says, "I have witnessed more horrors than have happened to me personally, fortunately for me."
Yardie gibbers incoherently.
Lylia nods at Ysharra.
Cruxophim gives Ekrah a strong, encouraging smile.
Speaking distractedly to Yardie, Raelee says, "... there are means to stop it."
Speaking to Yardie, Lylia says, "Essentially, yes. It is our will that stays our hand. Usually."
Speaking to Cruxophim, Ekrah says, "Your teeth are showing."
Lisbethany says, "His teeth always show, poppet."
Speaking to Raelee, Yardie asks, "But, what if someone is unable?"
Faerinn says, "It means he's hungry."
Speaking to Alosaka, Lylia says, "I have seen Torment spells go terribly wrong and leave their caster everted."
Cruxophim flashes an evil grin. The tips of his sharply filed fangs are clearly visible, protruding from beneath his upper lip. His eyes suddenly glow with a shadow-infused sanguine hue.
Speaking glibly to Faerinn, Cruxophim counters, "I'm always hungry."
Speaking to Yardie, Raelee says, "Then the demon will be summoned."
Cruxophim kisses Ekrah on the hand.
Speaking to Lylia, Ysharra says, "...everted? Oof."
Speaking to Raelee, Yardie says, "And that's where....possession may occur."
Cruxophim begins chuckling at Lylia!
Viria chuckles.
Speaking to Yardie, Raelee says, "Or simply a violent death."
Speaking to Ekrah, Lylia says, "Most of your kind devour what they are given instead of changing them. I have wondered if it was due to hunger."
Speaking quietly in Faendryl to Lylia, Hycis says, "This has been most enlightening. Thank you."
Speaking to Raelee, Yardie asks, "And it would continue until....he?"
Speaking in Faendryl, Lylia admits, "A bit more enlightening than even I expected. Thank you for being here."
Speaking quietly in Faendryl to Ekrah, Hycis says, "You are amazing. Thank you."
Ekrah swirls about Hycis's body, pulsing in pleasing colors of teal and aquamarine.
Speaking to Yardie, Raelee says, "Until someone or something intervened."
Alosaka slowly asks, "In alchemy, changing an element either consumes or releases energy, depending on whether the element is promoted or demoted. I wonder if moving an item along its timeline releases energy, and if that is what she consumes?"
Speaking to Raelee, Yardie says, "I...I understand. Thank you."
Speaking to Ekrah, Jaysehn says, "I have no desire.....but..."
Lylia says, "Interesting possibility."
Speaking to Ekrah, Jaysehn asks, "Your sight is the sight of your valence. Your limits are the limits of your kind. What do you see that I cannot? What are that limits that I do not have?"
Speaking to Ravinder, Lylia says, "I cannot wait to write to Silvean about this."
Speaking to Alosaka, Raelee says, "From our perspective it typically consumes - and I say this as a linear being attempting to operate in a non-linear fashion. However, even our attempts to move through time are still truly linear. The non-linear nature seems to bring the potential of release."
Speaking to Lylia, Thrassus says, "I am sure he'll be kicking himself for not being able to be present."
Ekrah allows the fiery viridian soulstone to sink into her hand where it swirls and floats within her frame before returning to her hand.
Lylia says, "I may crow about it a bit."
Speaking to Alosaka, Raelee says, "Or perhaps consume versus release, when speaking non-linearly, is not quite the correct terminology as it may be both and neither in the same moment."
Yardie says, "Both and neither still remain catastrophic."
Speaking to Lylia, Ravinder says, "I cannot wait to hear of his inevitable efforts to duplicate this occurence."
Speaking to Lylia, Faerinn says, "I think this is something worth crowing about."
Ekrah says, "Your limits on the surface are your struggles with magic. Delving deeper, you suffer from insecurity, though unrecognized. You strive for greatness, though you feel you are unlikely to ever achieve the pinnacle of it."
Speaking slyly to Lylia, Lisbethany says, "Perhaps the famed seer will send you an invitation."
Speaking to Ekrah, Jaysehn says, "So be it. Fate."
Lylia says, "Seer Drezda? Oh, most certainly. I wish I could ask her about this; she may have seen something of the sort."
Speaking to Akenna, Jaysehn asks, "Are you concerned for me, my Lady?"
Speaking softly to Jaysehn, Akenna says, "If I were not, you should be worried."
Speaking to Jaysehn, Faerinn asks, "Weren't you pretty concerned earlier?"
Speaking to Akenna, Jaysehn says, "I have told you. I have a very good mirror."
Speaking to Faerinn, Jaysehn says, "Not of that."
Speaking to Ekrah, Lisbethany hisses, "Forgiveness is weakness."
Lisbethany glances guiltily around the area.
A pained expression crosses Alosaka's face.
Viria blinks.
Ykan glances around the area.
Ekrah cocks her head.
Lylia gazes with interest at Lisbethany.
Speaking to Lisbethany, Alosaka says, "Don't tell her such things."
Speaking to Lisbethany, Yardie asks, "How so?"
Ykan raises an eyebrow in Lisbethany's direction.
Viria examines her fingernails.
Speaking to Lisbethany, Ekrah says, "Forgiveness does nothing for the person you forgive. It does wonders for you. The hatred, which you just expressed, is your own jailer. It does nothing for those for whom you hold."
Speaking to Lylia, Ysharra says, "I will return later, my friend."
Lylia says, "I shall be here."
Alosaka says, "I may have been wrong about our guest."
Speaking slowly to Ekrah, Lisbethany wonders, "Is there hatred in your valence?"
Lylia smiles at Ykan.
Speaking to Lisbethany, Yardie says, "While it may do wonders, some crimes are...unforgivable."
Ekrah says, "Yes."
Faerinn begins chuckling at Alosaka!
Raelee looks thoughtfully at Ekrah.
Lylia says, "Lorae'tyr's denizens are varied and probably better known to us than most, although paradoxically, we do not go there due to Shieltine's Ward."
Lylia says, "Lorae'tyr is also home to the abyran."
Alosaka asks, "The tiny ones?"
Lisbethany breathes in slightly.
Lisbethany accepts Ekrah's steel spray.
The sound of rattling wind echoes from within Ekrah. She appears amused.
Ekrah drifts slowly towards Alosaka, dispersing and flowing into Alosaka's nostrils before slowly leaking out of his ears. She quickly regains her form and glances at Alosaka expectantly.
Speaking to Alosaka, Ekrah asks, "How might I serve?"
Alosaka screams!
Alosaka coughs.
Alosaka dusts himself off.
Lylia says, "Abyran in all their forms are certainly no strangers to hate, and --"
Lylia turns to face Alosaka.
Alosaka slowly empties his lungs.
Alosaka leans forward.
Viria gazes up into the heavens.
Ekrah accepts Alosaka's leather map case.
Xanthium smiles at Alosaka.
Alosaka leans back.
Speaking to Alosaka, Xanthium asks, "Can I see it?"
(Alosaka retreats a few steps.)
Speaking reassuringly to Alosaka, Ykan says, "See? No pain, you are none the worse for wear."
Alosaka says, "Was... just unexpected."
Alosaka shivers.
Viria snickers.
Ykan appears to be struggling to keep a straight face.
Speaking to Alosaka, Xanthium says, "I say that several times a week at the Temple."
Speaking to Alosaka, Xanthium asks, "What did she Serve?"
Ekrah swirls about Alosaka's body, pulsing in pleasing colors of teal and aquamarine.
Alosaka cringes.
Lylia says, "Some of you might be familiar with abyran'ra. While I did not know if igaesha were sentient as we know sentience, though I certainly do now, there was never a question with abyran of any sort."
Lisbethany slowly empties her lungs.
Ekrah floats towards Ravinder, pulsing and swirling about his body.
Speaking to Ravinder, Ekrah asks, "What is your desire?"
Ykan nods at Lylia.
Ravinder gazes with interest at Ekrah.
Ravinder says, "That is quite the question."
Ravinder chuckles.
Speaking to Lylia, Thrassus says, "Yes, anything with that much resentment is definately sentient."
Ravinder says, "But for now.."
Viria cocks her head at Ravinder.
Ravinder offers Ekrah a weathered leather wand belt.
Lylia says, "Abyran'ra are a kind of warrior caste, while those we summon, abyran'a and abyran'sa, are of more magical intent. And yes, they are seething with spite."
Speaking to Ravinder, Xanthium says, "More socks."
Xanthium nods slowly at Ravinder.
Speaking to Ravinder, Xanthium says, "Just ask Pops. I mean, Melikor."
Xanthium shakes her head.
Speaking to Xanthium, Yardie asks, "Socks?"
Entwil begins chuckling at Lylia!
Speaking to Lylia, Alosaka says, "I suppose they're what I normally think of when someone says 'demon.'."
Xanthium says, "Him and his socks."
Berkana chuckles.
Xanthium nods at Yardie.
Lylia says, "Very much so."
Yardie says, "I...don't understand."
Speaking to Yardie, Xanthium agrees, "Socks."
Speaking to Yardie, Xanthium says, "He's very proud of his socks."
Ykan turns to face Lylia.
Speaking to Xanthium, Yardie asks, "But...why?"
Speaking to Yardie, Xanthium says, "He has little tiny liches embroidered on them."
Speaking respectfully to Lylia, Ykan says, "Thank you, I shall return to the events hopefully tomorrow."
Speaking to Ykan, Lylia says, "It was a pleasure. I hope to see you tomorrow."
Yardie says, "I think I will be at the event as well. I have much to reacquaint myself with."
Jaysehn raises an eyebrow in Akenna's direction.
Lylia says, "It is interesting to think of what 'tomorrow' even means to one who does not see it from only one direction as I do."
Speaking to Lylia, Ekrah says, "What has yet to occur."
