Azryen flatly says, "Once upon a time, long before the exile of the Faendryl or the destruction of the Ashrim, there lived a beautiful Faendryl Princess."
Azryen continues, "Life as a Princess was grand. There was no end to the bountiful feasts, stately balls, luxurious gowns, and people vying for her attention. But there was more to this Princess than her fanciful life at court would suggest. She had a dark and devilish secret....."
Azryen nods at Gavrien.
Gavrien glances appraisingly at Azryen.
Gavrien scratches his chin.
Gavrien ponders.
Ordim's jaw drops.
Ordim frets.
Azryen arches one eyebrow at Gavrien in an expression of sardonic amusement.
Gavrien thoughtfully continues, "The Princess was a sorceress, but this wasn't a secret. What she wasn't ready to share yet is that, in her private workshop, she had breached the veil between valences and called forth a demon."
Gavrien reminds, "This was a time when the Faendryl were well-regarded among the Elven houses, and demon summoning was still new to sorcery. The Palestra had not yet been established as they are now. She had no one to protect her from a summoning gone awry, nor were the bindings as strong."
Gavrien nods to you.
Katze glances at you.
You frown.
You ponder.
You grin impishly.
You ask, "Still, the Princess reasoned that she had many events to attend and she could hardly leave the demon unattended in her workshop. In a very ill-thought-out decision, she decided to dress the demon in finery - a black silk robe with a deep cowl and a mask just in case. What, she thought, could possibly go wrong with such a skilled sorceress watching over her new pet?"
You nod at Katze.
Ysharra laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement.
Ordim furrows his brow.
Leifa bites her lip.
Berkana chuckles.
Gavrien grins slowly.
Katze says, "The demon, quickly learning of his new position as pet, began to set out on a journey of self identification. He quickly assumed a more impish form and began to visit the local tavern about Sea life and being a pirate when......"
Gavrien gets a blank look on his face.
Katze says, "I like sea imps..."
Katze shrugs.
Katze says, "Think the next in line is asleep though."
Katze glances at Kaseopea.
A lanky ivory imp scampers into the area.
Katze grins impishly.
Ysharra waves at a lanky ivory imp. The ivory imp cocks its head quizzically sideways at her.
Melikor casually glances at a lanky ivory imp.
Azryen says, "We can come back to her if we need to."
Speaking to Berkana, you say, "I believe it is then your turn, if we are skipping ahead."
Berkana says, "When... just within his peripheral vision, a very attractive barmaid crossed his vision as she moved about the room with pitchers of ale. Curious about her, he set his focus on her form and followed her with his eyes, curious about the new sensations that this was creating."
Speaking to you, Leifa asks, "Fashion, sorcery, and pirates...whatever will come next?"
Gavrien stares off into space.
Ordim blinks.
You shrug at Leifa.
You say, "Only time can tell."
Cruxophim suddenly fades into view.
Vice Chancellor Xorus just arrived.
Berkana says, "The demon/imp lost focus and ignore his original intent and the barmaid became his main study."
Berkana says, "Her hair was a shining and bright shade of sunlight, her complexion pale as the moon, and the midnight blue of her eyes glinted with silver star-like stars."
Gavrien mutters, "Next."
Ordim says, "The Imp gazed longingly into the deep midnight of the barmaids eyes for what felt like forever. When suddenly a streak of light flashed the realization that the barmaid WAS the princess! Her REAL secret was that she wanted nothing more than to be a common barmaid! The imp realized this and..."
Ordim glances at Ysharra.
Ysharra laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement.
Leifa blinks.
Katze cackles evilly, his voice rising in chilling laughter. Two razor-sharp fangs are clearly visible, protruding from beneath his upper lip.
Azryen grins.
Gavrien gazes in amusement at Ordim.
Berkana laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement.
Ysharra says, "The barmaid princess and the imp decided to go back out on the high seas, feelng the need to top off this romping chronicle with yet more adventure. Only problem was, as we said, this was in the early days of Summoning, and the ocean deep has treacherous areas, where magic does odd things...and one squall so upset her concentration that the magic keeping the imp at her side started to unravel, the valence bowing like the storm-swept waters..."
Ordim frets.
Ysharra glances at Melikor.
Leifa glances about with a look of concern on her face.
Melikor glances at Ysharra.
Melikor glances at a piece of smooth white paper.
Melikor says, "Oh."
Melikor says, "The princess steadied herself, strengthening her bond with the imp, and keeping it in this valence. Soon after, another ship approached, bearing a skull-and-crossbones flag..."
Ordim gawks at Melikor.
Melikor says, "Our next victim is not present."
Melikor folds his arms over his chest.
Ysharra exclaims, "...it's going to be a fight...!"
Melikor nods at Leifa.
Speaking to Leifa, Melikor says, "You're up."
Speaking to Ysharra, Melikor says, "We'll find out..."
Leifa says, "The ship quickly pulled alongside theirs and a hoarde of pirates jumped aboard. Quickly, the Princess and the Imp sprung into action to defend themselves and the crew. With a desperate thrust, she cast an implosion spell towards the angry mob climbing up the ropes. However, the spell is very powerful and with the temporal disturbances in the area, things went strangely awry..."
Speaking to Leifa, Ysharra says, "I like that, nicely done."
Ordim says, "Pesky pirates promptly proclaim "Purple people! Please provide proper payment!"."
Ordim twitches, trying to control a vocal outburst, before settling into a disdained grumble while regaining composure.
Gavrien snorts!
Berkana stares off into space.
Speaking to Xorus, Azryen says, "I expect many people to die."
A lanky ivory imp sniffs the air briefly.
Gavrien chuckles.
Katze grins at Xorus.
Speaking to Xorus, Ysharra says, "Oh, surely you'll give the Princess Barmaid a happy ending."
Ordim frets.
Gavrien gives a sidelong glance at Ysharra.
Gavrien says, "Let 'er sweat it out for another round."
Gavrien grins crookedly.
Speaking to Gavrien, Ysharra says, "He makes puns all the time."
Xorus says, "The sky blackened as the void violently clashed with the temporal instabilities, forming a mana storm that warped the celestial heavens into unnatural movement. The stars returned to their ancient alignment after strange aeons, the sea now churning in horrible unnatural rhythm. The pirates began bleeding black ichor from their eyes and mouths, and erupted with tentacles from their chests. Unspeakable horror rose from the depths with an enormous baleful dread, a mass of writhing appendages floating into the sky with a beak below it. The princess turned to the imp and asked, "Have you met my father?"."
Leifa shudders.
Gavrien chuckles to himself.
You chuckle.
Ordim flails his arms about.
Gavrien mutters, "Surprise."
Ordim covers his eyes with his hands.
Melikor ponders.
Ordim trembles.
Berkana grins.
Azryen blinks.
Speaking to Xorus, Ysharra says, "You sure have a theme."
You ask, "Is that then our happy ending?
Ysharra grins slowly at Xorus.
Flockmaster Nehor just arrived.
Gavrien glances skeptically at Nehor.
Nehor sets about preparing himself to be as presentable as possible.
Azryen says, "Happy for Xorus, I'm sure."
Ysharra says, "Unless Nehor wants to save the day or dash what little light is left in the story world for our Princess."
Nehor raises an eyebrow.
Nehor dryly confesses, "I fear that I am at a loss as to the situation."
Gavrien shrugs.
Gavrien says, "Probably needs more of the story before he can weigh in."
Leifa sarcastically says, "I'd say her journey has been successful thus far."
Gavrien grins crookedly.
Nehor smoothly adds, "However, do not let that stop you all. I am here to...observe."
Speaking to Nehor, Ysharra says, "We have a Princess of Ta'Faendryl, before the Sea Elf war, who summoned an Imp, and then dressed them up as a courtier."
Speaking to Nehor, Ysharra says, "And then the imp escaped and took up life as a sea pirate."
Xorus says, "They are clearly madly in love. Madly."
Gavrien begins chuckling at Xorus!
Ordim nods in agreement at Xorus.
Nehor skeptically observes, "He does not look like a courtier."
Nehor paces to his left, moving in a circle around a lanky ivory imp.
Speaking to Xorus, Ordim says, "She just wanted a friend."
Ordim frowns.
Azryen chuckles.
Speaking to Nehor, Ysharra says, "Then -madly, hah, indeed- he became obsessed with a barmaid, who turned out to be the princess."
Speaking to Azryen, Gavrien asks, "We continuing this madness?"
Speaking to Nehor, Ysharra says, "They took off to the seas, and got attacked by pirates."
Azryen shrugs at Gavrien.
Ordim mutters not.
Speaking to Nehor, Ysharra says, "And at that point Xorus took over the narrative."
Azryen says, "It's whatever the people want."
Ordim coughs.
Ordim mutters something about pirates.
Ordim furrows his brow.
Nehor turns to face Xorus.
Speaking to Nehor, Ysharra says, "I bet you can make some guesses as to their current status."
Nehor turns an inquisitive ear toward Xorus.
Nehor begins chuckling at Ysharra!
Leifa turns an inquisitive ear toward Nehor.
Speaking to Azryen, Gavrien says, "Unless you're going to make the coward add a bit when he just walked in, you're up."
Xorus says, "The pirates gave birth to tentacled horrors from beyond the pale, and enormous monstrosity rose from the sea. The princess turned to the imp and introduced her father."
Speaking to Xorus, Ordim asks, "How did he get there?"
Ordim frowns.
Ysharra says, "I can't do it justice, but let's just say that whatever goes bump in the night has just risen out of the oceans and come wailing out of the eye of the storm to give our intrepid heroes a taste of what happens when you step outside your door."
Azryen nods at Nehor.
Xorus says, "He was sleeping."
Xorus smirks.
Ysharra grins at Xorus.
Speaking to Xorus, Ordim asks, "On the ship?"
Gavrien begins chuckling at Xorus!
Ordim frets.
Gavrien says, "In the pirates. Apparently."
Ordim flails his arms about.
Speaking to himself, Ordim says, "Elves are strange."
Ordim frowns.
Ordim folds his arms over his chest in a display of stubborn pride, tilting his chin up slightly in defiance.
Speaking to Xorus, Ysharra says, "You should ask Rekarth about the frogs, sometime."
Leifa frowns at Ordim.
Azryen continues, "Nonplussed by the barmaid pirate princess' introduction, the demon imp bellowed a laugh and said, 'Your father? This is -my- father!'."
Azryen nods at Gavrien.
Gavrien rolls his eyes.
Gavrien grumbles, "I can't top that."
Speaking to Xorus, Ysharra says, "You will get a similar story. Even down to the pirates."
Xorus says, "Awkward."
Gavrien scratches his chin.
Gavrien sighs, "Arright, give me a minute."
Katze says, "Because pirates are a great storytelling staple."
Katze says, "Arggh."
Gavrien continues, "The imp reached into the air and his arm disappeared into nowhere. When he withdrew his hand from, he was holding a tiny wooden box with strangely shifting geometry that was very hard to look at. With a triumphant grin, he opened the box, and a brilliant light poured out. Out of that light came..."
Ysharra smiles at Gavrien.
Gavrien glances expectantly at you.
Ordim's jaw drops.
You frown at Gavrien.
Speaking to you, Gavrien says, "Yes, I'm an ass. You're up."
Gavrien flashes you a wolfish grin.
Leifa nods approvingly.
You sigh.
Speaking to Gavrien, Ysharra says, "You've earned a few expletives past that short one, I think."
Ysharra gives Gavrien a little prod between the shoulder blades.
Katze says, "If this story goes awry I'm blaming it on the bastard."
Katze squints at Gavrien.
Gavrien grins smugly.
Gavrien says, "Story's already awry. That's the game."
Melikor says, "I think it's gone a--"
Melikor nods at Gavrien.
Leifa boredly asks, "Who likes a straight storyline?"
Leifa shrugs at Katze.
Katze says, "Awry is not necessarily straight by any means."
You say, "A monstrously huge grik exploded out of the light, snarling at the imp. It rasps, "Your father is long dead, imp, and you are *my* slave. You and your foolish barmaid both." The princess blinked, clearly taken aback, before an angry look settled itself over her features and she exclaimed..."
Ordim's jaw drops.
Nehor raises an eyebrow.
Kaseopea fidgets.
Leifa mockingly says, "Dun, dun, dunnnn."
Katze slowly empties his lungs.
Kaseopea snickers at Leifa.
Katze says, "The princess exclaims, "No! He is my imp as I summoned him here. You have no power over us!". Shortly afterwards she found herself quickly chained up along side her companion imp wondering how did this happen? When right then a sudden burst of water covered nearly half the entire boat...."
Ordim blinks.
Leifa fans herself.
Gavrien chuckles to himself.
Kaseopea laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement.
Ysharra chuckles.
Nehor thoughtfully wonders, "Which half? The left or right?"
Melikor glances at Ysharra.
Nehor ponders.
Kaseopea softly says, "Pass."
Ordim fidgets.
Speaking to Nehor, Ysharra says, "The bottom."
Speaking to Ordim, Gavrien says, "Make it good, shorty."
Leifa cocks her head at Ordim.
Ordim says, "But the wave wasn't water! It was a wave of JAM! The pirates were not just any pirates, but the fearsome, legendary, undefeated pirates of ..."
Ordim narrows his eyes.
Speaking to Melikor, Ysharra says, "I'm just letting him listen. It's a sea tale."
Leifa smacks her forehead with the palm of her hand!
Ordim theatrically exclaims, "THE SPITFIRE!"
Ordim flails his arms about.
Nehor glances at Ordim.
Nehor rolls his eyes.
Ysharra says, "...or it was."
Nehor dryly says, "At least it wasn't pickles."
Speaking confidently to Nehor, Katze agrees, "I also thought pickles."
Ordim concludes, "The wave of jam made everything very sticky, and the demon dad, the demon, the princess, her mysteriously sleepy father and the elven sailors all slowly reacted as the truefolk pirates rallied out with their cry of...."
Ordim glances at Ysharra.
Speaking quietly to Azryen, Gavrien observes, "This story's gone weird places."
Speaking to Gavrien, Ordim says, "The sea is a big place."
Speaking dryly to Gavrien, Leifa says, "This is what happens when you invite the little folk."
Ordim blinks at Leifa.
Gavrien chuckles to himself.
Speaking to Leifa, Ordim corrects, "Truefolk."
Speaking to Ordim, Leifa exclaims, "Tell the story, baker!"
Leifa beckons Ordim closer with a slow curl of her forefinger.
Speaking softly to Leifa, Kaseopea asks, "All the stories become about food?"
Speaking to Leifa, Ordim exclaims, "I did! it's Ysharra's turn!"
Ordim giggles.
Gavrien says, "Ysharra's up next. We'll see where she takes it."
Speaking to Leifa, Ordim says, "I gave her a lot to work with."
Katze says, "Lots of jam."
Ordim nods in agreement at Katze.
Ordim's stomach growls.
Ysharra raves, "Back to the jar with you, boys!" yelled Jellybeard, master of the world of Jam. But just as he reached from the water to draw the sticky substance back, the jam revolted, and started surging toward the ship and everything around it, and to their horror, they saw, that not only did it make things sticky, it transmogrified everything it touched! And soon the sea was one huge blob of marmalade, and growing fast!"
Speaking earnestly to Melikor, Ysharra says, "I love you."
Leifa groans.
Ordim blinks.
Melikor frowns at Ysharra.
Speaking to Ysharra, Melikor asks, "You sure?"
Speaking to Ysharra, Ordim says, "Jellybeard is a Dwarf."
Speaking to Melikor, Ysharra says, "Come on, you're a silly fellow."
Speaking to Ordim, Ysharra says, "Well, he was contracted."
Ysharra winks at Ordim.
Ordim nods approvingly.
Speaking to himself, Ordim says, "He was probably hiding under something with the ladies."
Gavrien admits, "I got no idea how this could end, at this point."
Ordim rolls his eyes.
Speaking to himself, Ordim adds, "Coward!"
Speaking to Melikor, Gavrien says, "G'luck."
Speaking to Gavrien, Ysharra says, "I briefly considered monkeys but thought that would be too weird."
You glance dubiously at Ysharra.
Gavrien gazes in amusement at Ysharra.
Gavrien repeats, "Too weird."
Gavrien says, "Right."
Speaking to Gavrien, Ysharra says, "Turquoise ones."
Gavrien dryly says, "Yeah, that's just too far."
You ask, "Like in that island?"
Speaking to you, Ysharra asks, "Sure. That's halflings, right?"
You nod at Ysharra.
Speaking to Ysharra, Ordim corrects, "Truefolk."
Ordim adds, "And Thurfel!"
Ordim giggles.
You mouth, "Shorties."
Gavrien points at you!
Speaking to Ordim, Ysharra says, "He knew how to keep a story going, too."
Melikor says, "The marmalade loosens the imp's bonds. Released, it looks in vain for an escape. It jumps over the side of the ship, into the sea of marmalade, when suddenly, something dark approaches..."
Leifa theatrically says, "Just when it seemed all the lands and sea would become a gelatinous blob, there came a rumbling. The reddish goo began to quiver and shiver as the ground beneath rumbled. Hot molten blobs of sizzling red jam began shooting in all directions. "Find cover!, " Jellybeard yelled, but it was too late. Nature had won over the disgusting blob and the earth was revolting! Just then..."."
Melikor casually glances at Leifa.
Katze says, "Ooo fast paced storytellin."
Xorus raises an eyebrow.
Ordim giggles.
Ordim lets out a cheer!
Speaking to Melikor, Leifa exclaims, "Please save us from more jam!"
You ask, "Since you both went, doesn't that make it now Xorus and Nehor?"
Ysharra says, "I'm impressed. I really thought I'd get some blank stares out of that, but you two served it up fast."
Gavrien nods in agreement to you.
Speaking to Xorus, Gavrien says, "You're good at approaching darkness."
Speaking to Ysharra, Leifa says, "We'd best move back to topics I know something about, because I'm a cake lover."
Speaking to Leifa, Ysharra says, "I'm not horribly fond of sweets, hence the appearance of marmalade as a threat."
Xorus says, "Crown and trident burst through the jam with the wrath of the briny deep, Charl rising in rage with his body glistening resembling blood. He bellowed, "Who dares curse the six seas?!" His face went pale as he looked at the enormous tentacled mass, recognizing in its essence that it was his long dead wife, who then shrieked in an eldritch chthonic tongue, "Don't look at me! I'm hideous!" The princess's jaw dropped and she exclaimed, "Mom?!"."
Speaking to Melikor, Ysharra says, "It was either Jellybeard or Cruxophim."
Speaking to Nehor, Gavrien says, "I hope you got an idea to wrap this up."
Speaking to Xorus, Ysharra says, "The blood of marmalade oceans. How many secrets they reveal."
Katze says, "Never stare at tentacled masses for too long."
Katze rubs his chin thoughtfully.
Katze nods sagely.
Ordim curls his hands into a mimicry of lobster claws, pinching at the empty air around him and making clicking sounds with his tongue.
Ordim looks thoughtfully at a lanky ivory imp.
Nehor theatrically declares, "And thus Mrs. Charl and the Arkati of the Sea were reunited, and Charl himself learned a valuable lesson. For you see, when you weild the power of a god, even your idle words have power. He had called her his Sugar Plum Pudding Cup one too many times...and it had become so. Charl, on realizing this, laughed jovially and the gelatinous Mrs. Charl devoured everyone else. The end."
Nehor nods firmly.
Speaking to Ordim, Ysharra says, "He's not made out of jam."
Kaseopea claps her hands.
Ysharra laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement.
You gaze in amusement at Nehor.
Ysharra grins at Nehor.
Speaking to Ysharra, Ordim asks, "Are you sure?"
Xorus says, "As is only right and proper."
Azryen says, "Well."
Gavrien says, "Yeah, that'll do."
Ordim applauds politely.
Gavrien nods in agreement.
Melikor draws his hands together in a slow, deliberate clap.
Azryen says, "This was all unexpected."
Gavrien snorts!
Nehor solemnly says, "What we consume oft may consume us. Ware, lest ye eat too many sweets..."
Nehor glares at Ordim.
Ordim blinks.
Melikor says, "Well, that was quite a story."
