WOLF CUBS

ELECTIVE ADVENTURES

Wolf CUBS Elective Adventures are designed to enhance the program for our scouts entering Second Grade in the fall. We have guidance, tips, and resources to complete each elective below.

What's in the Elective?

  • Rank specific manuals

  • Project materials list and any additional printouts (high-quality and color)

  • Rank specific checklist that can be turned into the scout's den leader or used to help fill in Scoutbook

Families can expect to have fun together working on projects while completing the following adventures:

  • Air of the Wolf is all about the motion of air and its effects. Scouts will make a balloon-powered sponge boat, a classic favorite musical wind instrument, and more!

  • Code of the Wolf evolves a scout's knowledge of codes and their relationship to arithmetic.

  • Cubs Who Care learn about disabilities through simulations

  • Grow Something will have your scout down in the dirt and learning about what grows in our backyards. Plant a seed, make a terrarium, and visit a garden!

  • Digging in the Past takes us way, way back! Discover fossils, how they were made, and who left them.

Projects

If you complete the Wolf C.U.B.S. your scout can be expected to have:

  • Made a balloon powered boat

  • Regaled the family with music from their homemade kazoo (sorry!)

  • Flown a kite

  • Played mathematical "Go Fish!"

  • Constructed a rekenrek

  • Gone on a hike

  • Designed a Dinosaur

  • Made a fossil cast

  • Modeled the formation of fossils

  • Planted and cared for a seed for 30 days

  • Visited a garden

  • Made a terrarium

  • Made a code stick

Getting Started

The C.U.B.S. program is designed to be extremely easy to use and include anything and everything you might not have at home. Each adventure begins with a list of materials you should acquire from around your home and everything that will be included in your bag. Let's take a look at an example:

Here are a few pages from the Wolf Grow Something adventure.

Intro

The adventure is introduced and the supplies are listed.

Printables

Any helpful printables are included. The manual is consumable. If a printout is better in color or needs special paper it will be in the bag as well.

Other Information

Some adventure requirements do not lend themselves to being "bagged." We include relevant links to help these situations.

Need more help? Use the drop down menu or links above to see each adventure and see more detailed photographs of experiments and activities.

Completing an Adventure

Included with your manual and printouts, is a Certificate of Completion and a chart to help you track and share your scout's achievements.

You can give it to a den or pack leader. Likewise, you can enter the information directly into scout book and your pack leadership can approve it remotely.
