bear cubs
elective adventures
Bear CUBS Elective Adventures are designed to enhance the program for our scouts entering Third Grade in the fall. We have guidance, tips, and resources to complete each elective below.
What's in the Elective?
Rank specific manuals
Project materials list and any additional printouts (high-quality and color)
Rank specific checklist that can be turned into the scout's den leader or used to help fill in Scoutbook
Families can expect to have fun together working on projects while completing the following adventures:
Forensics - time to take a bite out of crime...or figure out who took that bite!
Make it Move is all about motion - explosions, pullies, levers, and the cool things they control.
Marble Madness will teach your scout the rules of classic Ringer (and a few others) and how to make their own marble bag to hold all their marbles.
Robotics. Circuits and bots and articulating hands, oh my! Dive into why we need robots and how we use them.
Super Science. All science, all fun! Make your predictions because testing hypotheses is a lot of fun.

Getting Started
The C.U.B.S. program is designed to be extremely easy to use and include anything and everything you might not have at home. Each adventure begins with a list of materials you should acquire from around your home and everything that will be included in your bag. Let's take a look at an example:
Here are a few pages from the Bears adventures.
Intro
The adventure is introduced and the supplies are listed.
Printables
Any helpful printables are included. The manual is consumable. If a printout is better in color or needs special paper it will be in the bag as well.
Other Information
Some adventure requirements do not lend themselves to being "bagged." We include relevant links to help these situations.
Need more help? Use the drop down menu or links above to see each adventure and see more detailed photographs of experiments and activities.
Completing an Adventure
Included with your manual and printouts, is a Certificate of Completion and a chart to help you track and share your scout's achievements.
You can give it to a den or pack leader. Likewise, you can enter the information directly into scout book and your pack leadership can approve it remotely.
