In Bulgaria, 20 days annually. You accumulate 1.5 day for a whole working month. You should have accumulated at least 8 months of overall working experience in the country in order to have the right to use paid annual leave.
In France, 5 weeks annually. You accumulate 2.5 days for a whole working month. You accrue annual leave in periods counted from 1st June - 31st May. To have the right to take annual leave, you should have accumulated days from the previous period.
These 5 weeks are counted as 30 days annually on your payslip since we are using the ‘journée ouvrable’ policy. This means that Saturdays are considered as potential work days. Since in practice this is the not the case, these 5 days annual leave for Saturdays are deducted from your annual leave balance each time you take a Friday off.

Please note that your employment needs to be active for the whole month to be entitled to the annual leave. Otherwise, it will be calculated pro rata.

The unpaid leave could be used whether or not the employee has taken their paid annual leave and regardless of the length of their length of service.
In Bulgaria, apart the administration in BambooHR, the employee should print an unpaid leave request paper and give it to their direct supervisor for signature. The hard copy of the paper containing the signature should be given to the Office Manager. You will find the necessary form in the "Templates" folder:
In Bulgaria, the maternity leave is paid six weeks before the child’s birth. During 410 days the mother receives 90% of her average salary that has been paid during the previous 24 months.
The pregnant employee goes on maternity cover 45 days before the due date if there are no complications.
After the birth another sick leave is given for 210 days.
The employee should submit a maternity leave in the system and present the first sick leave document to the Office Manager.
After completion of the 410 days of leave for pregnancy and birth, if you decide to take paid leave to care for a small child, you are entitled to benefits until the child reaches 2 years of age.
In France, maternity leave depends on the number of children in the family or to be born. The standard leave is 6 weeks before the birth and 10 weeks after. This configuration can be modified under certain conditions with the agreement of your doctor.
In Bulgaria, an employee who has become a father can take paternity leave for 15 calendar days after the day the baby has been discharged from the hospital.
The employee should present a document for the discharge to the Office manager.
In France, employees living in the same household as the child born are entitled to 3 days off - congé de naissance (3 jours ouvrables – thus Saturdays are counted). Mothers do not receive these 3 days in addition to their maternity leave. Paternity leave is 11 consecutive calendar days. It can be taken directly after the congé de naissance or separately.
Sick leave or the time off from work that the employees can use to stay home to address their health and safety needs. It could be paid and unpaid according to the relevant Labour Code.
In Bulgaria, employees who haven’t accumulated overall 6 months working experience can not use paid sick leave.
The first 3 days of the sick leave are paid by the employer and the amount is 70% of the daily salary. These days are paid with the salary for the current month. The next days of the sick leave are paid by the National Insurance Institute and the amount of 80% of the daily salary. These days are paid directly to your bank account in addition to the salary, usually 2-3 weeks after the salary.
In France, to be eligible for sick leave you must obtain a doctor’s certificate and make the appropriate declaration to Social Security. The first 3 days of absence are unpaid. The following days are paid at 50% by the Assurance Maladie with the maximum amount capped at 50.58 EUR per day (figures valid for 2023).
After 8 days you may be entitled to a supplement in income from Advent Group according to the Convention Collective. You must present your “attestation d’indemnités journalières” to your Office Manager 7 days before the end of the month.
Employees in France may take parental leave. However this time off is not paid. The employee may be entitled to an allowance from the CAF.
The maximum initial duration of parental leave is one year. However this may be extended. The conditions of the extended parental leave depend on how many children were born simultaneously.
In the event of an illness, accident or handicap, parental leave can be extended for an additional year.

For Bulgarian employees only. Not to be used in France and Canada.
This is used for counting overtime hours to taken off at a later point.
They can also be used when you wish to take half day off. Once you accumulate 8 hours, one day of accrued time off will be deducted from your annual leave.
In Bulgaria the employee could use up to 2 days paid leave.
In France you are entitled to 4 days off for your wedding or PACS. If you have worked for more than 1 year in the company, this increases to 5 days.
It is the company policy to use the recuperation day/s that you have in the 3 months after you accumulated it/them.
Employees receive 5 additional bonus days per year. This applies to employees that accrue 20 days annual leave per year. For the French office, the number of additional bonus days is 3 per year.
- The bonus days can be taken only after all of the annual days have been used.
- The days are loaded in BambooHR in “Bonus days” section from where you can request them.
- An application must be filled in by the employee and an Order for the use of these days must be drawn up by a Human Resources Specialist.
