Beth yw enw dy fam di?
What’s your mother’s name?

Beth yw enw dy frawd di?

What’s your brother’s name?

Fiesta yw mec fy nghar i
Fiesta is the make of my car

Coch yw lliw fy nghar i
Red is the colour of my car

Dr Jones yw enw fy noctor i

Dr Jones is the name of my doctor

Banc Bryncastell yw enw fy manc i

Banc Bryncastell is the name of my bank

Pwy yw’r capten?
Who is the captain?

Pwy yw capten y tîm?

Who is the captain of the team?

Pwy yw capten tîm Cymru?

Who is the captain of the Welsh team?

When something belongs to or is associated with a person or place, we have no ‘y’ at all
