Introduction

Welcome to the LRC School Staff Hub. Your one-stop area to make full use of the resources available to you within in the LRC and the online e-resources:

In addition to this, the LRC has a range of services that TAs/Teachers can use to help you with your classroom learning/projects. Helping SEN students have access to digital eBooks and Textbooks (free of charge). Student wider reading book recommendations request service and staff training to make the best use of the LRC e-resources available to you. You can find further information about these services further down the page. 

Also all staff members can take up to 6 books on their LRC account at any one time. You can keep your book for up to 3 school weeks (extra time during holidays).  You can renew your books up to 3 times before they need to be returned. If you lose or damaged any books, you will be required to replace the books.  

VLeBook (School LRC eBook Collection) 


VLeBooks is the school LRC eBooks collection. The eBook library currently contains over 500 eBooks. Covering classic literature, quick reads, non-fiction, modern youth fiction and graphic novels. 
To access VLeBooks go to www.vlebooks.com, click on the Microsoft 365 button and log in with your school email address & pc password.

Reading List Area

Reading List area, is a one-stop area for teachers, TAs, parents, guardians and students to find books available in the school library and in the eBook library collection (VLeBooks).  To help students with their studies or find a book/eBook to enjoy reading for pleasure.  All reading lists are updated 3 times a year to reflect new books added to the school library or eBooks added to VLeBooks. New reading lists will be added to this area during the course of the school year. Click on the button below to access the Reading List.

E-Resources 

We have access to a number of e-resources which you can use to help with planning your lessons

Britannica Magazine is a new magazine for children with curious minds. Each issue is packed with facts, knowledge, figures, quizzes, puzzles, jokes and much more.  You can access all the magazine issues online by clicking on the magazine front covers below. You can also download the magazine as a PDF file. The magazine is published 10 times a year. New issues of the magazine with be added to this site page on the first day of each month except for August. As result of this July magazine will have bonus content in it.

Into Film+ enables schools to stream films at the click of a button, allowing educators to unlock the power of film in the classroom like never before!

Featuring a catalogue of over 150 films at launch - with more titles to be added - Into Film+ caters to pupils of all ages. From timeless classics to exciting new releases, each film is specially selected by our expert curation team to support curriculum learning.

What's more, every film is packaged with curriculum-linked educational resources to support educators of young people across all ages and abilities, and providing teachers with a fantastic, user-friendly tool to aid with planning and enhance their teaching.


Please, email the School Librarian if you like access to Into Film +. Please note Into Film + can only be used in the school building. 

Libresoft Librarian+ is the school's online LRC catalogue. Listing all the books available in the LRC and eBooks on the VLeBooks site.
To access Libresoft Librarian+ you will need to ask Mr Evans (Librarian) you just click on the "Sign In With Microsoft" button on the Libresoft Librarian+ log in page. Enter your school email address and password you log on to the school PCs. You will get instead access to your own personal LRC account.

The National Theatre Collection via Drama online is available to stream in the classroom and at home, offering the best seats in the house whenever you want. Now home to 50+ high quality filmed theatre productions from the National Theatre and other leading venues.

You will also be able to access resources, such as rehearsal notes and short films. These can help students to understand the plays and the theatre-making process.

Newspapers For Schools News Library gives you access to over 140 UK newspapers. The News Library contains local, regional, and national newspapers. The library has over 35 million articles. Articles dating from 2006 up to the present day. The News Library is updated every morning with newspaper articles for the current day.   To log into Newspapers For Schools News Library please use the following details:

LRC Support Services and Forms

Staff LRC Book Request Form

If you would like the LRC to consider buying a book for your subject area that would be of interested to the students. Please, click on the button below and fill out the request form.  (Please note the LRC will not purchase any core subject textbooks) .

Student SEN Student Digital Book/Textbook Request Service

If you have an SEN student in your class and is on the school SEN Register. We can provide them with digital copies of their subject textbooks and core subject reading text. Using a service called RNIB Bookshare which the school has access to.  Please, click on the button below and fill out the book details the student requires. I will then send the student an email share folder link to download their digital copy of their book/textbook. 

Staff LRC E-Resources Training 

If you would like some training on using the following e-resources:

* JSTOR (Academic Database)

Training can be done before school between 7:30 am to 8:30 am Monday to Thursday or after school 3 pm to 4 pm Monday, Thursday or Friday in the LRC. Please, click on the button below to book your LRC e-resources training session. I will confirm your booking within 48 working hours:   

LRC Teacher Topic Book Box Service

If you're planning for your students to do a research task or study a new topic in class. Then the LRC can create a topic box of books to support your topic. Please, click on the button below and fill out the request form.  You will receive an email when your topic book box is ready to pick up from the LRC.
