Bedrock Learning Awards and Competitions

The English Department would like to award students pings and prizes throughout the school year for the progress they make on Bedrock Learning. So we are running a number of awards and competitions to celebrate students' individual achievements on Bedrock Learning.

Vocabulary and Grammar Pings

Students will be awarded pings for doing the following things on vocabulary/grammar each week for homework:

Points 

Students earn points every time they use Bedrock Learning. Points can result in students winning prizes throughout the school year.  Below is the breakdown of how students earn their points on Bedrock Learning:

Competitions

Bedrock UK National Competition Termly Prize Draw: Each term Bedrock Learning sets a national competition where students can earn prizes for the total number of points you earn on Bedrock per a term. 50 students each term from all the schools in the UK who hit the point total for that term could earn a £10 Amazon voucher or a top prize of a Google Chromebook.

Abbeyfield School Bedrock Megastar Awards: All students that earn 750 points or more on Bedrock Learning during the course of the school year will get a Abbeyfield School Bedrock Megastar Awards certificate and badge for your achievements. You will also be entered into the end of year school prize draw to win some cool prizes. You can also get a Abbeyfield School Bedrock Gold Megastar Award for earning 1500+ points during the course of the school year.

Highest Student Improvement Score Term Award:  Each term the student that has the highest improvement score on Bedrock Learning for each English Class Group in Year 7, 8 7 9 will be awarded a chocolate bar and certificate for their achievement.

Bedrock Learning House Competition: This year all Year 7, 8 and 9 students will be working together for their house teams. The points you earn on Bedrock Learning will be added to your house. Each house is trying to get the highest points total on Bedrock Learning by the end of the school year to win this competition.

Also tutor groups in Year 7, 8 and 9 will also be completing with each other to get the highest points total points each term. The tutor group with the highest points total each term will win their tutor group a special award. Updates on your house totals for this competition will be sent to your form tutors during the course of the school year.
