Gentlemen, Welcome Gentlemen. If I can start with you Russell,
Congratulations to all the award winners of the 12th Annual Australian Road Safety Awards.
Q1] How you came about creating ARSF, tell us your story ?
Have you served in the Australian Defence forces, Police, Ambo’s, or Fireys ?
Why are you so passionate about Road Safety ?.
You bring to our attention the disastrous road statistics, and how community involvement is the key, your tag-line.
The keys to reducing road trauma and saving lives are in our hands.
Now we know, ordinary people complain to their local councils, state Member and Federal representative for this and that,
Q3] Have you sourced a community road complaint that would win an award if it was acted upon ?
I congratulate all awards winners, however
I’d like to see real community programs initiated by the communities, rather than,an Outreach programs,
I’m not saying the QLD police didn’t do a great program. Thank you QLD Police for their fantastic work.
Q4] How successful has the Hierarchy of Controls to Road Safety been ?
Based on Hierarchy of Controls, where PPE is the least effective and Elimination is the Most Effective where physically remove the hazard,
I extend my congratulations to Main Roads WA for being the Most Effective in the Hierarchy of Controls.
Q5] Dr Ray, you served 42 years in the Victorian Police, you are awarded with an APM [ Australian Police Medal ]
Is it true that issuing costly fines helps to change human road behaviour?

Q6] Congratulations for receiving a Community Grant from Australia Post,
