Let's talk about Tropical Cyclone Seroja

a deadly tropical cyclone that brought historic flooding and landslides to portions of southern Indonesia and East Timor and later went on to impact Western Australia's Mid West region,

• Husband to Louisa and father of three teenagers;

• Worked for the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) for 18 years;

  • Graduated as a Fire and Rescue - fire fighter in 2003;

  • Currently holds a Bachelor of Emergency Management;

  • Has undertaken roles from first responder through to Incident Controller and Operations Area Manager in response to:

    • Road crash rescue, Structure fire, Hazardous Materials Incidents, Bushfires, Storm events, Searches and Cyclones;

  • Currently acting as the Chief Superintendent for DFES Learning and Development (day job) with an operational role as Duty Chief Superintendent in the DFES State Operations Centre;

• Involved in the pre-and post impact operations associated with TC Seroja.
