BBG Officer Responsibilities
Responsibilities of each position of the regional board, according to the constitution (CRW BBG Constitution, Article V, Section 5)
All Regional Officers, with the exception of Madricha, shall:
Communicate regularly with chapter counterparts.
Make frequent visitations to all chapters of BBG and BBYO within the Region.
Serve as a link between the chapters and the Region.
Deliver a Mid-State and State address to the region.
Communicate regularly with their International Counterpart.
Attend all Regional Events and International Convention unless excused by the Regional N’siah and Regional Director.
Regional N’siah (President):
Serves as an officer of the Regional board and fulfills the duties as stated in the International Constitution.
Presides over all Regional Board meetings, Regional Business Meetings, and Regional Conventions.
Acts as the official spokeswoman and representative of the Central Region West B’nai B’rith Girls.
Represents the Region as an automatic delegate at International Conventions and Executive Meetings.
Serves as Central Region West’s liaison to the International Order.
Delivers a Mid-State and State Address to the Region.
Responsible for counting election ballots along with the Regional Director at Regional Elections. If they are running for any office other than Madricha, this job is passed down to the S’ganit.
Responsible for the well-being of the region.
Revises the Constitution throughout her term as motions are passed at Regional Business Meetings.
Attends weekly meetings with Regional Godol and Staff
Regional S’ganit (Vice President of Programming):
Assumes the duties of the Regional N’siah if they are unavailable to serve because of absence, illness, or resignation.
Is the second automatic delegate at International Conventions.
Promotes eight-fold programming.
Promotes all International Initiatives.
Appoints Regional Chairwoman with advice from the Regional Board and coordinates their work.
Selects Regional Convention Leadership Team for Regional Events and oversees the process.
Promotes BBG/BBYO Regional & International Contests and Awards.
Regional Morah (Vice President of Membership):
Presides over all membership matters.
Is the third automatic delegate at International Conventions.
Provides guidance and leadership for educational efforts throughout the Region that are related to BBYO.
Is responsible for managing the BBYO Connect program calendar and/or any leadership team appointed to do so in conjunction with the Regional Staff.
Trains all chapter counterparts in recruitment strategies and works with them to develop and achieve membership goals.
Regional Yehudiah (Vice President of Jewish Heritage and Israel Engagement):
Promotes and oversees all aspects of programming under the Jewish Heritage fold.
Educates about the following aspects of Judaism such as: culture, holidays, identity, and traditions, as well as Israel, Zionism, the Hebrew language, and more.
Promotes all International Initiatives related to the fold for which they are responsible.
Oversees the planning of Global Shabbat or a committee that does so.
Oversees coordination of Regional Kallah with Regional Sh’licha.
Oversees prayer services at all Regional Conventions and programs.
Regional Sh’licha (Vice President of Social Action and Community Service):
Promotes and oversees all aspects of programming under the Community Service and Social Action folds.
Promotes and educates about Stand UP, BBYO’s Service, Philanthropy and Advocacy initiative.
Ensures all chapters have selected a Stand UP cause and are engaged with Service, Philanthropy and Advocacy efforts surrounding that cause.
Promotes all Movement-Wide Initiatives related to the two folds for which they are responsible.
Oversees coordination of Regional Kallah with Regional Yehudiah.
Regional Mazkirah (Communications):
Promotes effective communication between all chapters and the Region.
Sends out monthly emails to the CRW body and parents regarding past and upcoming events.
Promotes Summer Program Registration to members of the Region.
Takes and presents minutes at all regional Business Meetings and sends copies of the minutes to the Regional Director, Regional Board, Chapter N’siot, and the International N’siah and Mazkirah.
Promotes consistent and creative minute-taking within chapters.
Oversees effective use of Social Media on the part of the region and chapters for publicity and connectivity purposes.
Regional Gizbarit (Treasurer):
Promotes the International Service Fund (ISF) in an exciting and creative way.
In partnership with the Regional Gizbor, leads efforts for GivingBBYO Day in the fall and spring fundraising campaigns.
Responsible for collecting ISF contributions, and for related record-keeping.
Organizes at least one Region-wide fundraising activity in collaboration with the Regional Aleph Gizbor.
Coordinates the auctioning of the services of the Regional Board Members to raise money for the Region.
Assists the Regional Sh’licha in creating budgets and fundraising for charity throughout the year.
Assists chapters in fundraising throughout the year.
Helps chapters create budgets for their spending.
Identifies chapters that need bank accounts and works with Advisors and Staff to find banks and accounts that work for each chapter.
Regional Madricha (Past President):
Serves as an advisor to the Regional Board.
