You will provide supporting evidence for your qualification in video and screen grab format for your digital work. This is particularly useful for Unit 51 - 3D Computer Modelling.
To evidence your skills in Unit 51 you need to demonstrate the skills listed in the below grading criteria, you'll be working towards meeting distinction levels.
Your 3D modelling work has been completed in Autodesk Fusion 360. You've built at least two models and have a range of 3D modelling skills, but we need to now prove this to the examiner!
You can learn about rendering high quality images and animations of your models here, but you must also show YOUR skills operating the product:
The Fusion 360 timeline allows us to go back in our modelling process, make a change, but then return to the current state with all the in-between modelling you've worked on still in place.
Each stage along the timeline you see above can be returned to and edited, you can see sketches, extrusions, revolves, fillets etc represented in the timeline.
If you drag the timeline (the pointer at the right hand end) all the way to the left, then press play, Fusion will play back your entire modelling process at high speed, this is a great piece of evidence for your evidence site:
You have two options for collecting live evidence of your CAD/Fusion work.
1. Use the Autodesk screen casting application, get it from here and install it - this is probably the most comprehensive and quickest way to demonstrate competence as it records:
Once you've done your screencast and it's uploaded to your Autocad profile, you'll need to embed it in your evidence site.
The disadvantage here is that the videos will need to be shared from your Autocad site and will not autoplay on your evidence page. Take a look here for some sample casts.
2. Your second option is to record a screen capture as a GIF using Giphy or ScreenToGif and then insert the gif into your page on your evidence site as demonstrated by your teacher.
The advantage of this method is that your evidence site will ALWAYS work as your captures are stored within the evidence site instead of outside it. There is no guarantee autodesk won't change their urls for their captures.
