These videos show you how to sketch and render simple shapes in one-point perspective. I use a Wacom Intuos graphics tablet with Autodesk Sketchbook, but you can also follow them all using conventional, paper-based sketching techniques.
This video is going to give you an introduction on how to draw circles in 3D. This video is duplicated in the 3 Point Perspective tutorials page is it works on the same principles.
These following tutorials show you how to apply the theory of one-point perspective to the application of a real product. In this instance we shall be having a go at drawing a simple Apple TV Remote.
This first video shows you how to sketch the remote in 2D.
This will show you how to get the basic shape and details out of a simple cuboid.
Once you have the basic line work formed, you will be able to apply some basic rendering to create more of a 3D form.
With the rendering complete, you will be learning how to add the 'presentation' details to make the sketch stand off the page.
The activities on this page are here to teach you about what one-point perspective is and how it can be used in design.
1. This is an activity which is absolute fundamentals for sketching in 1 point perspective.
2. This activity takes the first one a step further and shows you how to create more complex shapes in 1 point perspective.
3. This is a crating activity which takes the principles of 1 point perspective and then shows you how to form a more complex shape out of it.
