God showed his love among us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might live through Him. There is no greater love than to lay one’s life for others. Jesus is the manifestation of God’s love for us. The love of God the Father to Jesus is radical. The love of Jesus for us is radical, and their brand of love is radical. The radicality of Jesus’ love stems from His deep connection with His Father. What sets the love of Christ apart from other kinds of love we know?

a.         Love Forgives

Forgiveness was the heartbeat of Jesus. He was the epitome of love and forgiveness. A love that forgets the past, engages in the present and hopes in the future. As couples let us learn to forgive one another’s mistakes and let love dwell in our hearts.

b.         Love is Self-Giving

Jesus is the most remarkable example of a love that is self-giving. He put his life at the service of others, He came to give and not to take, willing to suffer for us to experience the fullness of life. Let us love our spouses in a selfless kind of love. May true love dwell in our hearts.

c.         Love is Truth

Jesus walks in truth, for He is the truth. A truth that hates what is evil and holds on to what is good. In marriage, we promote truth, beauty, and goodness. Let us not tolerate sinful ways, big or small. We believe in the sanctity and indissolubility of marriage, and we stand firm in our beliefs. The goal of every marriage is not just happiness but holiness.

Let us learn the kind of love that Jesus bore in His Sacred heart. The Radical Love that is present in us should also manifest in all areas of our lives, and His presence must reign in our vocation, our role in the family, and our current situation. Let the radical love of God through Jesus flows in our marriage and relationships in the family.
