What is the difference between an ordinary house and a Christian Home?

Grace

A Christian family needs to live in a Christian home. It needs to build its home for God. When it does so, the home becomes an important center for God’s people. A Christian home is very central to God’s plan.

Let us get to know what the characteristics of a Christian Home are.

1.     A Center for Christian Family Living

The center for Christian living is not the school, parish, or a covenanted community but the home in which the family resides. The family is considered the domestic Church. As a Church, it is the place where the members pray, read and study the scripture, undergo teaching and formation, and have fellowship with one another.

2.     A Center for Formation

A Christian home is a discipleship school. It is in the home where one learns unconditional love, self-sacrifice, and how to become a person for others.

3.     A Center for Evangelization

In the home will be raised men and women who love the Lord and who will want to spread His dominion. The Christian home is the base from which will proceed the work of winning the world for Jesus Christ.

A Christian home’s unique feature is that it is centered on Jesus. For us Christians, Jesus is at the very center of our homes. He is at the center of our lives.

How can I maintain my home centered on Jesus?

Go Forth

As a family let us consecrate our homes to the powerful intercession of our Blessed Virgin Mary. Let us start praying the rosary as a family.

God is Generous and in response, let us be good stewards by consistent Spiritual Giving, our tithing.
