Please Note: Year 7 Mathex students have the SAME assignment. You choose what to work on, so choose something at the right level for you. If you are tired, for example, play games from the Year 6 choice page.
You can choose ANYTHING as long as you are learning about mathematics. This includes all the links posted in Google Classroom, or on this website. This is your chance to drive your own learning. Enjoy it!
Every day you choose something mathematical to do.
It could be watching a mathematical video.
It could be improving a skill.
It could be investigating the History of Mathematics.
It could be looking at Maths Week activities, and choosing one to complete.
Every day you update your Google Classroom Assignment Document explaining what you did.
Every day, if possible, include a screenshot or photo of the work you did.
If you skip a day, no worries, just make a note like this:
Tuesday 18th August: I did not do any mathematics because I was too busy doing....
Great Idea: Set a SMART goal for the week:
S - Specific: I am going to improve my 7 times tables.
M - Measurable: I will use Transum Tables Master to record my progress.
A - Achievable: I think I can do this because I know most of them slowly.
R - Realistic: I have said "improve" rather than give a certain speed.
T - Time frame: One week.
This is your chance to prove to yourself that you are your own best teacher!
Photos or screenshots are great to include in your Record of Learning. One per day is a suggested minimum.
Record of learning - update each day.
Maths Week is extended for another week. Explore, choose and record what you did in your Record of Learning.
You might use the Chaser Questions to test your parents?
Transum Tables Master (See the SMART goal advice above).
August Lockdown (3 suggestions per day, you choose easy, medium or hard).
Logic Games - Math Playground (Remember to screenshot your success and struggle).
Dan Finkel Puzzles on Ted Ed
You made a cake, and doubled the recipe.
You played cards or a board game with the family.
Your own project: Planning to feed people in need, without any food waste of people going hungry. All about estimation and planing the baking and cooking required. Also to ensure the food is fresh, so a time line for cooking and preparing is required.
