Breakouts have been a trend in education and social life. These are timed puzzles that individuals need to solve on different subjects in order to "breakout" typically either locks in a room or a box. A digital breakout is the same but all the information is found on a single Google Website and using a "locked" Google Form.
A watershed (catchment or drainage basin) is the area of land from which rain and melting snow drain into a river, stream, or other body of water. Besides lakes, rivers, streams and other surface waters, watersheds include all the water that soaks into the ground and becomes part of groundwater. This water is what we use every day for drinking cooking, cleaning and everything else. It is important for us to know exactly where that water comes from!
To help our 4th Graders understand and apply the concepts of watersheds, the Innovation Lab created a Digital Breakout for the students. This also helps students understand importance of our Lynnhaven Watershed here in Virginia Beach and develop points for our Pearl School Status. Try out the Breakout Yourself!
