Design
• To design a smoothie using a selection of fruit and a choice of a base.
Make
• Preparing and chopping fruit safely to make a smoothie.

Technical Knowledge

• To know that a blender is a machine that mixes ingredients into a smooth liquid.

In Reception, the children explored food by making porridge, gingerbread men and pumpkin soup and designing a healthy food plate.
In Year 2, the children continue to discuss making healthy choices, use knives to cut and spread and design and make sandwiches.
