Miss H. Talmon sold parasols out of a building “opposite the mayor’s dwelling” in 1821. In October of that year, she moved into Jackson’s former house, located approximately where the World of Beer stands today. Talmon is difficult to find in census data, though she appears to be one of the few female business owners in town at the time.
