Oyster House

Though the land here was underwater in the 1820s, just like today people in the past preferred to build their homes in places with a nice view. Peter Mullen renovated his house on Pensacola Bay “at considerable expense,” converting the property into a restaurant. Open from 6pm until midnight, Mullen provided steak, oysters, and victuals - a general term for food - for “moderate prices.”
